Useless Singh
by sandesh on Dec 12, 2005 10:20 AM  Permalink

Dear Sir,

Ask dharam singh to find the most urgent work to be cleared ( Infrastructures , than doing unwanted things.) He has more work to be done, But we see him in temples / Functions only.

Regards,
Sandesh

Are they gone sane
by sundeep on Dec 12, 2005 10:08 AM  Permalink

Changing name of cities is mostly political motives. Politicians use it to divert attention from key issues.

Bangalore is very fine with its name.

Rather than spending crores of rupees on changing the name on every name plate Mr.Dharam Singh would do good if he uses the money for infrastructure development in bangalore.

As a bangalorean I feel thats the most important thing right now.

Funny ! CM will get more votes now !!
by Rahul on Dec 12, 2005 09:58 AM  Permalink

I don't believe this utter nonsense.

Instead of improving the fast ruining infrastructure of Bangalore the Chief Minister plans to rename the city !!

Only if politicians had real sense/urge of improving things for the country.

Dissapointing.

Please leave bangalore alone!!!!!
by Shrinivas on Dec 12, 2005 09:53 AM  Permalink

Please stop this!!!! There are more important things to worry about, such as lagging infrastructure, proper mass transport system, and rising costs in Bangalore ... Name change can be looked into later!!! Grow up politicians!!!!

Bengaluru??...this is sad. I mean..have the kanadigans lost it?...all the major metros in the world have cool names..and bangalore sounds great..I have been in this city all my life and for all the pain of living in the city with its traffic and roads etc etc...there are a few things here which make me proud and particularly when I hear the name of the city from the mouths of people like Bill Gates etc. I mean Bangalore is not of the kanadigas alone..its a global city now..thanks to IT. We should want people to remember the name and say it easily rather than twist their tungs while trying to say it..don't make the Chennai mistake guys...Madras was a good name. But i guess its just not about the name...there is dirty politics here as well as usual..DHARAM SINGH THE C.M. WHO GAVE THE CITY ITS TRUE IDENTITY! HA!?

Dharam Singh does it again !!!
by Akshay on Dec 12, 2005 09:45 AM  Permalink

Ever since he has become the Chief Minister, Dharam Singh has shown that he isn't capable of anything but backward, regressive, populist politics. Having done nothing for Bangalore, he now wants to rename it. Bangalore is an international brand and the name 'BANGALORE' has become synonymous with progress in India. By renaming Bangalore to Bengaluru, Dharam Singh has done it again.

It is good that changing the Bangalore ad Bengaluru.
by hearing the name slang it tells about kannadiga's culture.

In this oppertunity We all should request our PM and President to change our country name as Bharat

Bengaluru

Don't these politicians have better and more important things to do in stead of renaming the cities. Why don't these people keep in mind the amount of money it would cost to account for on single change in documents, reports, atlas, maps, books, visiting cards, lettersheads and what not across the world. Completely stupid and thoughtless move.
