Wasim Akram is a gem of a person beyond doubt. Sharing his experiences with others is the nicest thing to do.His words will no doubt inspire people to lead a normal live and enjoy every bit of it.Throughout his career he remained as a person of determination, strenght against all odds, not only diabetes. So,for obvious reasons, when a person like him says something, its worth following. Thanks him for his values. He knows how to live, how to achieve something and now is showing everyone how to do it.Wish him every best...
Wasim Akram has been a great bowler, an under achiever in batting in spite of a great potential, a natural leader both on and off the field without having to make an effort to lead, a good family man and a great human being. I am not surprised that he is contributing to society in a big way - he is just being natural!
My mother died of complications from diabetes way back in 1983.That time I [ then 47 yrs ]got investigated, was found to be pre-diabetic.Slowly I started with mild excercises, long walks,& jogging. Having to work supervising in cinical biochemistry laboratory made me interseted in ditery aspects controlling this disease, had cataract operations after this.I worked for over 40 yrs in this field in a senior position. Recently, for the awareness programme, Ihave sent a write up to The Times of India, WELLNESS on Diabetics- know the glycemic index & glcemic load of the common foods consumed. Today, at the age of 68 yrs, I walk daily for more than an hr, jogg sometimes , at present in Sydney -Au, or on the seaside at Worli, Mumbai, India. I will appreciate if other sports personalities join the awareness programmes for diabetics or other diseases, the initiative taken by a person like Wassim Akram who fought the disease and remained on top should be applauded & even for his frank admission. This also a good gesture by a pharma co. to felicitate youngsters.
Sickness is in the head of an individual. If he decides that he can overcome it, he can simply be the best of health. But at the same time if he keeps pondering over it, he tends to start looking pale and all the more sick. I totally agree to what Mr. Wasim Akram had to say, he's a gem of a person. Hats off!!! to you Sir.
I think it is awesome work done by Waseem Akram to create awarness amongst the common man with diabities. people tend to take diabities as some deadly disease & look down to people suffering from the same.
There is a very simple,cost-free way of reversing diabetes if it has not gone out of control. But the problem is that people are so much under the influence of allopathy that they are averse to other forms of treatment. but if a person like wasim akram promotes the cost-free and easy method of not only controlling the problem but also reversing the problem then he would really be doing a great service to humanity. i appeal Wasim Akram to espouse the method i used and treated my diabetes. if anyone is interested he or she can write to me for free guidance at skk36@rediffmail.com
