Predictions, Predictions and statistics!
by Pranshu Saxena on Dec 08, 2005 05:09 AM  Permalink

Hi,

One study says temprature over India will change by 4 degrees in 100 years. Another study released today in USA says if climate changes by 1 celsius, the earth cannot recover and will revert back to gigantic ferns period half a million years back!!

1 degree change in celsius means 70PPM increase in CO2 content, 4 degrees mean CO2 content in atmosphere will be 630PPM, maybe enough to turn Indian decidous forersts into tropical rain forests!

This will initiate the methaning of atmosphere which is also a major greenhouse gas and create a second warming period since Christ. First one ended in mini ice age which started in 14th cen and ended just recently.. So, it may not be a bad thing at all, because last warm period lead to massive increase in human populations,
India jumped from 75 million to 150 million, China from 70 million to 120 million, Europe from 25 million to 75 million in what would be european dark ages. (10th-13th century) This period was characterized with huge bumper crops.
Around 1316, when mini ice age started, the downward trend began but was arrested and afflicted mostly europe (that is why greenland is covered with ice!).
regards

How to plan
by pradeep on Dec 06, 2005 05:34 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

While it is one thing to predict future by scientific study which is no doubt good,

It will be next to impossible to prevent nature from taking its course due to damage already done( of corz we can mend our ways for future to minimise the damage).

So the best strategy for common public to survive would be to position themselves & their future generations at a location where there is least or no activities & furies of nature.

So guys while relocating to another city for prosperity, pl give thought to this long term vision also.

Lets try to survive as long as we can.

Agnihotra - Homa therapy is the solution
by Mandar M. on Dec 06, 2005 10:21 AM  Permalink

This is very interesting article as amongst many. I think performing AGNHOTRA can heal the atmosphere and this healed atmosphere will heal us. Agnihotra is the ONLY way out to correct the problems of pollution. We are racing against time and must ACT NOW to save this great planet from total destruction by performing AGNIHOTRA.

British motives
by Amar on Dec 06, 2005 12:31 AM  Permalink

Scientists today have a consensus that the tropics will suffer relatively more from the climate change. That said, the British have a vested interest in playing up losses in India because that way, India will be induced into agreeing to earlier CO2 cuts, thereby reducing the US rationale for not ratifying the Kyoto treaty. For the British, the condition is quite dire since the prediction is that climate change is expected to paradoxically lead to colder weather in Britain. India should really take a hard look at data before agreeing to sacrifice its fledging economic growth for the sins of the Western world where they have pumped so much CO2 over an entire century.
