I disagree to the statement of the Prime Minister Quote "Indian businessmen are somewhat lazy. There may be some problems on the Russian side - visas and some other things"
The most negative factors are visas, growing racist attitude toward Asian communities among Russians and lack of legal safeguards for business.
The visa issue is a major hindering factor as the Russian Immigration authority apparently considers all Indian visitors to Russia as illegal immigrants and it seems cannot make the proper distinction in this regard. As such, it is very difficult to get visas for interested businessmen.
Racial hatred and violence in Russia has increased manifold specially towards dark skinned people making even normal stay in Russia very dangerous unless one moves around with security or in safe transport.
There are hardly any legal safeguards for Indian businessmen in Russia in case of any problems or issues involved.
Instead of commenting on the laziness of Indian businessmen, PM should comment on the laziness of the Indian Embassy in Russia which is totally indifferent to the needs of the Indian Community and make things better for Indians in Russia.
