There lies Prthviraj Chauhan too
by Venkatesh Murthy on Aug 30, 2005 07:54 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It's a betrayal by Manmohan Singh to the people of India that he took time to visit the grave of Babur, who was an invader of India, but forgot to pay respects to the grave of the brave Rajput king Prithviraj Chauhan.

Is TajMahal really built by Shah Jahan the Great?
by probeen on Aug 30, 2005 07:11 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Shah Jahan was really a great architect. He was indeed a lover of art. The beautiful strutures built in his period were RedFort and Jama Masjid [I have seen it woh its great engineering]. But did he really built Taj Mahal? It is just a question I had in my mind through many years, I dont have any proof. But going to past where we can see a chinese traveller who visted during the period of Shahjahan didnt mention about huge structure Taj in his biography, intresting. Taj Mahal is the name that came from \"Tejo Mahalaya\" which was under a Rajput king who then ruled Agra province. Shah Jahan who was impressed by that marvel, summoned the Rajput king and ordered him to give his land to him as gift. During those days \"Emperor could do anything if he gets angry\" so the poor king was helpless and submitted his land. Then that marvel was converted to mausoleum [Which is wonder of the world].
What ever may be the reason of that structure, it would have not been so popular, if it would not be a mausoleum. People of other countries remember Taj Mahal when we say INDIA, \"It is really Pride of INDIA\" our nation.

We want it to be worlds most beautiful structure :)

Proud to be Indian

Where the mughal emperors die.
by Yogeshk on Aug 30, 2005 04:14 PM  Permalink

Those who you are refferring to as Great Mughal emporers, most of them were bloody tyrants who
had unleashed a string of murder, terror, rapes and
plundering of temples. ( not to mention the killings
and imprisonment of their own siblings and parents)

They did NOT bring along an era of great new architecture, but in most of the places destroyed
many beautiful monuments. Indeed, you yourself are
at a loss ( for almost 12th century to 1875, you
can mention only Jama Masjid, Red Fort (Taj Mahal
is a disputed heritage ) )
Contray to your statement Aurangazeb was not able
to win much teritorry, was an utter failure against
Chatrapati Shivaji, and finally died with a will
to destroy the Maratha kingdom

Please stop spreading false impressions. Please revise your history before writing such articles.

Mughals ... Who Mughals ?
by Ajey on Aug 30, 2005 02:31 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The Mughals (Apart from last Mughal, Bahadur Shah Jafar), I suppose did not rule India, they tortoured India, killed infidels, destroied their places of worship, looted them, did not spare women, children, plundered tremndous wealth through treachary etc. The developement in the field of art, music, achitecture etc, is in the blood of the native people of this land, they keep doing it irrespective of who is ruling them, Mughal or for that matter any other foreign ruler can be given a credit of this developement. They came to rule and plunder this holy land, yet they were buried here itself. Afterall one of the mightiest of the Moghul ruler, Aurangzeb, fought 23 years with Marathas, figting a lost battle and was buried here itself, who said Moghuls could rule all over this land. They were gang of thugs, looter, intolerent, uncultured and currupt minded foreign impurities to this holy land.

RE:Mughals ... Who Mughals ?
by nidhi on Sep 01, 2005 07:34 PM  Permalink
I was very sad to read your article, Mughals although came in as conqueror but gave India the glorious period in arts, litreature, uniting the country. I am not saying they were all good, Aurangzeb was a staunch believer in Islam and by forcing people to convert to islam was his way to be religious and believing he is doing good. Akbar the Great was indeed a great Mughal Emperor. Why to bring Hindu and Muslim issue here, Even Hindu emperors at the time were busy enjoying their lifestyle if they were more active as aking there would be no Mughals but they lacked as a king, they were busy in raising issues of religion putting female infanticide and sati burning as a part of a religion? So Moral of the story is History is a Mystery but lets not use current/sensitive issue Hindu Muslim on all our discussions! And Also please have your facts correct and then post any messages.

Mughals
by jagmohan on Aug 30, 2005 02:17 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Sorry, their regime, mostly barbaric and of extreme servitude lasted too long, when our forefathers were put on the frying pan, little children buried alive brick walls, their women folks made to drenchin fires, simply becfause they did not adopt Islam yet,lo, the history teachers tell us our slavery started after their exit and arrival of the British. Too shameful to digest!!!

Mr Jagmohan for your kind information the perception of yours that in India ISLAM had spread thru sword is absolutely wrong.
If had been the reason then no hindu would have been here in India today,as Moghuls ruled India for More than 500 Years. Sangparivar requires only 10 years to eliminate the Ethnic minorities from india, despite of Democratic & Secular nation.
Is it was not easy in those years where King is every thing?
Just remove the Spectles of Bias & Prejudice then you would come to know that Moghuls are more secular than todays SECULAR leaders & rulars let alone of ther facist like Modi & Togodia
