while we seem to be swaying away from our culture,it's heartening to know that a foreigner is taking keen interest to be a part of our musical legacy.

Malayasian Chinese boy and Karnatic music
by Dr.Y.Poornachandra Rao on Aug 25, 2005 09:48 PM  Permalink

When even Indian children are strangers to their own culture and music,it is heartening to know a lad from across the seas interested and working hard to learn indian music.
If parapsychologists are allowed to have their way and investigate,it is not surprising if they come to the conclusion that this boy has an Indian connection in previous births and that accountsfor his uncommon interest.

Excellent. We also talk in Sanskrit.---Dr. Ashish

Sanskrit is so easy. Crisp. Why people feel amazing about Sanskrit I dont know.
I must appreciate this man, as he knows the real value of Sanskrit, staying away from India.
After all Sanskrit is all-purpose language. It is useful on earth or in heaven or in the interstellar galaxies. Only thing required is capitalizing it and valuing the education and scholars of Sanskrit.
Congratulations to Mr. Sen and his Guru.

its amazing to read the story on 'Sai Madan Mohan Kumar.' He is a perfect example for true deidication to carnatic classical music. Even for younger professionals in this field, they might have taken many many years to give a .arangetram.' The samskara of His previous birth is the only cause behind this mans destiny.

Hi,
The word chinese to a malaysian has made me surprised.A reporter or the person who wrote this peice of news needs more expore other than his home place. How can he or she call a Madan,a Chinese when he is a citizen of Malaysia.May be he is of chinese orgin like tamil in Malaysian but after all he is not a China citizen.

Guyz Guyz...

How does it Really Matter - Whether one is a Chinese or a Malaysian or blah blah.

What does one achieve argueing over such trivias or even taking the time to comment regarding the Same.

Why don't INDIANS for that matter GROW UP ! Why don't we put energy in more constructive thoughts, Constructive criticism.

If we Talk about INDIAN - We will strip it down to South Indian, North Indian. And you know it doesn't STOP there....

Please Guys - When there is opportunity to Express your thoughts - Make sure you make another Indian reading it Proud of you. U see you have your compatriots all over the world.

Regards
Ms.
