WOw,

The bus looks so good, feels like youa re travelling some part of world outside india.

BEST is really the best, for their good service . Other part of country cities like PUNE lack in local transport system , service and quality of bus and now BEST are going ahead for the best.

Keep it up BEST. you are the best.

New mumbai buses
by sanjay on Aug 18, 2005 06:42 PM  Permalink

Good news .. but as u said, the roads have to be improved too. But most important, the behavior of the passengers towards the new facilities has to be noted.
BEST should try to copy the system (operations, buses) used in UK.. still long way to go for BEST but atleast they have taken the first step towards it.

Regards,
Sanjay

It wont work
by Ramakant on Aug 18, 2005 06:18 PM  Permalink

BEST has always come up with so many commuter freindly solutions but at the end of the day if you have to run the low height buses u need a road with ZERO pot holes and in Mumbai BMC dont want to do that.
So i dont think it will be successful instaed it will cost BEST more money to service them.

Mumbai BEST customer friendly buses
by Christopher Fernandes on Aug 18, 2005 05:37 PM  Permalink

Will the bus Driver and the Conductor have the Time to pick up the Customer They dont stop buse on the buse stop for me
I'm a Handicap with a polio in my right leg even thought I show my hand to the driver he will not stop the bus if the bus is crowed some time I wait for 45 minutes for the bus but when the bus come it will not stop so how can these buse stop for a handicape person who is no cranches and wheel chair,

Bus staff has only 1 thing in mine how to reach the bus on time, they will only stop the bus any where even if there is no bus stop for govt pass holder and stop the bus for them to alight any where the persons tells them

The Conductor has no manner to talk to passenger
The driver will allow any amount of Govt pass holedr from the rear gate and they are allowed to stand at the gate and crowed but if a normal person comed from the rear gate he is tought manners

so what is the point to have customer friendly bus we need customer friendly bus Staff

and what about the drivers ?
by RD on Aug 18, 2005 05:36 PM  Permalink

They also need to do something about the BEST bus drivers. Some of them are too rash to drive a bus carrying 60-70 people. Their ignorance to signals and to vehicles on adjoining lanes should be arrested. Wonder if they can do anything about that !
