kudos to the column, and to the HAF to be bold enough to do some plain speaking in this important issue.
Tolerance & respect for others is mostly confused with lack of spine in the hindus. The more the people come out & make a case for getting some respect back in return, the better.
Incidentally, HAF also was one of the few non Christian voices that dared to submit to the US Supreme court the view that the "Ten Commandments" however good they were, were not universal laws, but a Judeo Christian interpretation. And their display in public places amounted to pushing other thought & belief systems to "second-class" status in the US.
Thank a lot to ms.vijaya dandpani and the rediff.com itself for publishing this report of Hindu American Foundation regarding persicution of hindus in bangla desh and pakistan.it is a sorry fact that hindus do not have a collective spine.entire history is replet with stories of hindu timidness. it is time that the community should rise up to resist its genocide in bangladesh,pakistan or any other country of the world. the govt. of india will only wake up when it is goaded to. the so called hindu organisations must take a lead in this direction.
Dear Mr Dandapani, the thugs and bigots in Pakistan and Bangladesh you chronicle sound very familiar to my ears. They sound exactly like the thugs and bigots who have been killing and attacking Muslims and Christians in India, like in Gujarat, most recently. These thugs and bigots, whom someof us even we elected to Parliament, like in Bangladesh and Pakistan, get support from the highest levels -- some of them, namely people like Narendra Modi and LK advani, were even elected to Parliement. They're also bred in the millions by NRIs in America, who live in that country, earn dollars from its economy, and abuse its tolerant secularism and right to free speech by keeping their country of origin, India, divided and therefore unable to progress.

Where r u living now?? in US?? or in UK?? You people who believe only in pizza's and other meaterialistic pleasures have no value in culture and religion. How can you equate india and pakistan?? You are talking on the basis of Media reports which is 100 % one sided. There is no mention of 240 hindus in gujarat killed in shooting by the media. An official figure of 900 civilian loss (hindus + muslims) has been exaggerated to 2000 & 3000. When babri masjid is demolished, there was no civilian loss. but the media reported, 2000 muslims lost their life. Shame on you to speak on these issues.. Please change ur name to sharifa or some thing else...
That's nonsense. Dandapani has brought up a serious point of the severe reduction in the Hindu population in Pakistan, Bangladesh and Kashmir. No such fall in the Moslem population has occurred in India. India's ideology, even under the BJP, has never been one of religious hatred, whereas Pakistan, Bangladesh and the Kashmiri movement are dominated by that ideology. Stop this equal-equal stuff, please!
