by sunil on Jul 27, 2006 05:13 PM  Permalink

hello ,
to hell with the nuclear deal !!
with 'WORLD CLASS SMUGGLERS,BEST IN ITS CLASS', we have in india, whats the big deal? give the smugglers some incentives and LO!!
we can have a few tons of nuclear fuel as well as designs to make fast reactors.
maybe later we can supply those to the usa.
but beware ! we also do have world class duplicators and fake item sellers.
so lets begin without the USA>

shame on us
by ashish sinha on Aug 11, 2005 09:29 PM  Permalink

In the first place .. why do we have to ask somebody to give us nuclear fuel or nuclear reactors for civilian use or whatever.

Why are we incapable of making these things on our own ?

Why are we not self sufficient in these strategic matters ?

If we do not have sufficient nuclear fuel and petroleum reserves, why do not we explore non-conventional sources of energy ? What about wind energy, solar energy, hydro power?

Why can't we do the basic R&D ???
Do we have a future vision on the scope of R&D in these areas ???
You do not need to be a scholar to put up these issues. Its basic common-sense.

I just wonder why our politicians always overlook something that is so obvious and go for short term solutions that will hurt us in future.

Please make R&D the theme for our development. Let's use our hands to help ourselves.

Is my dear government listening ???

Can someone explain in detail please
by DSK Rao on Aug 11, 2005 04:07 PM  Permalink

'Because separating our civilian and military nuclear facilities is a near impossibility and will cause enormous problems' - This is being repeated by several persons after the PM's return. I wonder why PM was not properly briefed and cautioned on these aspects. It would also help a lot , if the perceived problems of seperating civilian & military nuclear facilities are listed for people to appreciate better

Conditions apply;
by chanakya on Aug 11, 2005 12:05 PM  Permalink

"On the US side there is a conditional assurance." quote.

Oval has lately been occupied by playboys and scheming politicians.

The days of the statesmen like Abraham Lincoln and Dwight D. Eisenhower are over.

Oval has no permanent friends.

neither foes.

With the shifting policies of the neanderthaals occupying the oval loyalties and priorities change.

The convenience of the macho is supreme who would not hesitate delivering even the Goddess of Liberty to some dirty dozens in the interests of his buddies in the defence production industries.

The oval office has stooped down to the commission agent of the defence industry.

The two eyes of the occupant of oval (viz. the FBI and the CIA) have become fingers on the triggers, instead of restricting themselves just as the eyes of the neanderthaal, and the former is made so much power-drunk by the latters that the humanity and humility do not even linger any more in any of the corridors of the White House.

And Abraham's ghost is sobbing.

good caution
by karigar on Aug 10, 2005 10:39 PM  Permalink

It is good to have hard headed diplomats like Mr Chandra thinking for us, after all the soft-headed politicians we have making goofy decisions for the country.
