Did these so called Bolliwood and Television personalities suddenly wake up from long slumber to realize public interest?
Where were these people during past several years, when public suffered, if they were really concerned about welfare of Mumbaikars?
Present suffocation is not due to one or two days filth but due to that accumulated for years!
Did they visit various parts of Greater Mumbai all these years to note deteriorating conditions of cleanliness? Did they observe pitiable condition of Mumbai mans plight of life?
Did they join hands with struggle of N.G.Os like A.G.N.I., in fighting against non-performance of enough of cleaning duties of Mumbai during past several years?
If they were really interested in public welfare, let them start from basic root cause for such large magnitude of devastation!
If there is no brain drain amidst them as many seem to show their high I.Q., on number of occasions, it is not very difficult proposition to identify corruption at all levels as the only filthy root cause for such adverse state of affairs! Are these blind to this fact?
Why are they hesitant to organize a massive crusade against corruption systematically?
Why didnt they openly support and join in anti-corruption crusade of Sarvashri. T.N.Seshan, G.R. Khairnar and several others?
Why didnt they fight for an immediate systemic change and judicial reforms?
Why did they wait so long to feel the public interest?
Do they know reality of entire Greater Mumbai stinking not only due to dirty filth, but due to filthy mind, filthy politics, filthy corruption, filthy judicial system, filthy planning, filthy functions and finally filthy system? Man made all such filths for years now! It is not Government! After all who is Government? It is therefore entire community that is collectively responsible!
Did they fight against irregular constructions? Did they put up protests against illegal constructions? Did they obstruct expansion of slums? Did they provide adequate funds to Government seeking re-orientation of Mumbai to accomplish a cleaner Mumbai? How can we the Mumbaikars believe that these are really personalities of public interest without any contribution to arrest gradual but definite sinking of Mumbai all these years?
It is really pathetic to note that Government could not order God to stop 100 yrs record cloud burst due to which an unprecedented huge volume of rain water of about 945 cms. poured in one day to which infra structure already available for years now could not cope up with, resulting in such a devastation that needed adequate time, man power and material that could not immediately be deployed. No one could have done any magic!
Did they really file a public interest petition in real interest of public or in vested interests to sack a comparatively cleaner Government that took over not too long ago, in a political vendetta entirely with an ulterior motive behind, on the name of public interest, are some of the questions agitating in minds of the public of Mumbai!
