Stop blaming rains.
by Rahul Tank on Aug 02, 2005 02:03 PM  Permalink

The death toll of above 900 shows us what may be the tip of the iceberg.Other losses may have been infinite. However the rains are surely not to be blamed for all the havoc.A good water logging system is the need of the hour. Many pictures of incandesant rain clearly show that one part of road is under water whereas the part of the road beyond the road divider is very much clear.

The BMC says that it is trying to reach the masses but that still remains a dream for a number of people who are still without potable water and electricity. The government must take strong measures and prepare itself for any such untoward natural calcamity in futute.

It is our combined fault.
by Devdatt Godbole on Aug 02, 2005 02:03 PM  Permalink

What disaster has happened in Mumbai is a combined fault of all of us.First of all there exists no Law & Order for preventing illegal constructions..Anybody can start construcying anything,anywhere...and everything goes on right under government's nose...corruption can do it easily..
I think..we must build more and more such type of constructions...Make the life more and more miserable...for our next generations to come..dig the grave for ourselves and for Generation next...
What more can i say...all the younger generation is abroad..I am writing this from England..
I feel sorry for India..and still we boast of winning a seat in UN security council, when we are not yet completely developed..
This is pathetic..

Long live our hopeless politicians.....
