principally i agree that the present govt failed in thir actions, i want to point out one aspect in all this chaos that is our civic duties, how many of us living in this great city of mumbai follow cleanliness, i have seen people living in big towers and posh areas just throwing out rubbish on the roads, and the nullas, where as these same people when travelling to some foreign land are very careful in throwing trash on the roads or in public places they go in search of trash bin to dispose of the garbbage. second why have the politicians and the human rights allowing the shantis to spring up and protect them from any good actions taken by the ruling govt. thirdly why are the builders given permission and license to carry out their constructions where as there is hardly any free space to breath to the people of mumbai, i am talking of the original mumbaikars, can we as citizen of this great city and nation take initative to educate our self and our immediate neibhour in civic clenliness, stop throwing garbage specially the plastic bags, then we will solve 90% of our problems, lets start together now at this very moment tell our self, our friendsand every one. jai mumbai......
Well this is a mattter of great concern. All we need transparency,Commitment and proper utilisation of available resourses. We are cutting a very Sorry figure in front of World community. We only dream a Shangai or singapure where are the results.Delayed Projects, red tapism. This incident will also pass off and evrything back to Square one.No Hopes. We need a revolution where all the dirt is cleared and we get smart able and efficient people.
Is it not shameful that in the midst of the unprecedented misery Mr.Deshmukh swore in a defector minister? The High Command attached greater priority to Narayan Rane's REHABILITATION over the thousands of Mumbhaikars.I suppose this is the character the leadership has!,
There is no proper planning in the developement of Bombay city.I t may be there in files, there is however no transperancy while implementing the plan. It further precipitate during actual work at ground level , it helps politians, administrators, and city builders along with mafias. The actual plan is kept aside, the benefiaries enjoy at the cost of public fund and their lives.Mr. Deshmukh is one of them.
Sir, 1. The article is good. I feel that our metrological dept is to be given advenced equipments for more accurate forcasts.
2. Major railway points where tradionally water gets logged and all suburban railway stations should be given web cams for 24 hours monitoring. Access of these web cams be made to public through internet so that they can get correct and unadulterated feedback and take decisions.
3. same as 2 above for major road inetrsections.
4. Loud speakers shall be provided at major road intersections.
5. Mr A N Roy Police comissioner deserves very high award for his clear thoughts and good leadership.
The Congress should sack Deshmukh as he is interested in only turning Mumbai into Shanghai. He should be sent to Beijing where he may be more useful. This is a govt. of nincompoops!
The main thing that comes out from all this is administrative inefficiency and the pathetic lack of accountability of all the govt. officers.. especialy the 180,000 strong BMC. It is high time that the very reason that allows these people to continue in this lackadiascal manner is dealt with. Remove the job security of these govt. officers and sack them when they fail to perform. That is the only way these thick skinned beaurucrats of ours will understand the plight of the people.
Start with the muncipal comissioner. Is he blind that he cannot see the huge no, of illegal encroachments? Is he blind that he cannot see the filth on the roads? IS he deaf that he can\'t hear the no. of people crying hoarse about the red tape at BMC? Can he also not see the rampant corruption in the dept.?
well we dont want such \'commissioners\' and beauracrats
Why should we blame Mr. Deshmukh alone. It is dirty politics has taken its toll. It is Shiv Sena v/s Congress both. It is municipality administration which failed Deshmukh government. None of the politician, either from MUNICIPALITY OR STATE OR CENTRAL were present, except Mr. Deshmukh. Mr. Deshmukh had the guts to accept his government fault, which none others accepted.
