You still think that Goverment tried to do something. You still agree that Goverment tried to do something but in scattered manner. You are still giving excuses from Government side. Its ridiculous. They even didn't try. So you say that planning of Govt. failed. I think that they didn't even plan.
Although this is a sad situation , the magnitude of what has happened is so large that any Government would be overwhelmed and pointing fingers is of no use. Tsunami , floods , rains , earthquake all of these elements will continue as this is part of a new cycle. Especially prone will be those near the seas. The finance sector as well as Bollywood needs to relocate to areas away from the seas. And Mumbai needs to build infrastructure that can withstand heavy rains. Although the worst can pass this year , next year may again witness the same. I say be prepared. I also pray that God sees this pass quickly and spare further agony.
Vilas Rao should be ashamed of himself. What was he and his government doing? Surprisingly India try to show its good part to the world but hide the faults the politician or the system posses. What the MET (weather people) doing? they cannot even predict weather for the next 2 days ont he severity level. This politicians take trips to the foreign countries but do they learn anything from them, how their system works in crisis or handle emergencies. People should force the government to have crisis management, disaster management type of departments in place, and above the WEATHER NEWs or any NEWs which can help the population in saving their lives. What are the experts doing, working for politicians only? People should take control of their lives and hold the government responsible for the tragedy. Media has not played its role properly either, they are too busy behind Cricket or "masala news" or Bollywood (dust bin). In India there is no value for human lives, and such incidences only prove it strong. Come on people take charge...its time to wake up......we can do it...
No doubt there is lack of quick action by the Govt. But in this situation it is not so easy to take decesion. What ever one will do one can not satisfy all people at this crises sitaution. My concern is that what for the Govt. of India metrological department. Why they can forcast these things in advance and inform the state mechanism to take prior position. We are telling to the world that we are one of the best country in technology.Whether this is only for other country and for us only data bank. Why this could not be forcasted earlier. Now the concerned department is measuring the the rain fall and giving the statement. Why no action can be taken against these people who are working in this department. Why the things are not published what action has taken against these people when the death of the people are published in various media. Who is responsible for this. Who will come to the risk of those people who has lost almost every thing in their life. Why these things are not published. Why people are asking govt. should plan and do every thing what about the other agencies who are receiveing crores of amount from different rout not only from Govt and also from out side countr
As Mumbaikars, we are proud of our city. In last few days we have learnt, or should I say, we have been taught a very good lesson on disaster management.
Monsoon is always a welcome sight in Mumbai after long, hard and humid summer. As far as I remember, rains have never poured with such vigor and valor. As proud citizens of India, we have always had an excuse and lets admit, we are the best at blame game and pointing fingers. Who should we be blaming for these rains and damage it has caused?
In US and Gulf of Mexico, storms of category 5 have been very regular, infact there atleast five in a year hitting the south east coast of US and pan handle of Florida. Cuba, and other Carribean Islands take a blow every year. How does their government deal with it. What are they doing different? Is there something to be learnt from them?
In my opinion, public is equally responsible for the crisis. We need more awareness, civic sense, respect for public property, knowledge of our rights, dismiss curropt civic and state authorities and contractors.
its abslolutely ridiculous on the part of congress which didnt acted at all to save the people, and even after everything had happened ,still the failed to provide relief life water and food to people, there were children without mild, elders without medicines, who is responsible for their agony.instead of deplying high end relief operations the chief minister was engaged in appeasing the rebel shiv sena leader, this is the real show of irresponsibility of the govt which doesnt seem to be interested in the common man.if still everything is not got in control i think this is going to be reflected in the next election.i really think that the maharashtra govt is absolutly failure, the govt should be dismissed and presidents rule should be imposed.
