This is just one more incident in a pattern of police misconduct and criminality, with very few being prosecuted and even fewer being convicted. For years women have been taken to police stations and raped. Even those venturing to make a complaint was raped by the cops with total impunity. Little wonder then that people take the law into thier own hands, because the entire justice system is not only nonresponsive and ineffective, but totally rotten and corrupt.
I definately agree with you Mr.Y.P.Singh that rapist More might be given a life sentence, but I feel that the punishment should be more harsher. I sincerely feel that Rapist More should be HANGED TILL DEATH! This will instill a sense of fear in the minds of the people of India, and the common man will not only regain his lost faith in the India Judicial System but he will also think twice prior to committing a crime!!
The person More under charge should get punishment. But life imprisonment is one thing that i certainly feel is the most inhuman punishment. It should be given in only one case that is murder. Our society has become very open compared to 20th century and people understands feelings and the girl will certainly be accepted by the society, though the harm caused to her mentally we can never understand, but at least we can accept her wholeheartedly and support her to come back to normal life. though my intention is only to say that the policeman should get some years imprisonment. this will also cause him so much pain that only the one going through can understand. Or better "hang him" ... its my personal view only....
Mr. YP Singh is justified in terms of laid down law but in this case the punishment certainly should not be limited to laid down law etc., but an exception should be made to the law so that the detterence is examplary for the would be .....
The punishment should be keeping in mind that the one who is suppose to prevent crime has turned into a criminal,in addition to punishment prescribed for his crime.
What is the sexual attraction in a minor who may be no more older than your daughter? Child rape and sexual abuse and rape of minors is the highest form of criminal offence a person can indulge in.These warrant only death penalty.If we dont support death penalty and have crazy women's organisations protesting to spare the criminal as we had earlier(hetal parek) ,then there will be no value for a justice system in India.Why is it that Saudi Arabians and singaporeans can follow more stringent laws and we cant?They award death penalty even for thieving and drug trafficking.They day we see death penalty for child abuse and rape is the day we would respect this country.
This is not only tragic but also pathetic that the protector of the law himself becomes the violator .The state police department and the IPS have to seriously have an inquest as to why there is an increasing trend of this kind within the POLICE force itself.Is it the arrogance of the uniform or something deeper to do with psycho-sumatic cases.
This growing trend of the wild repressed brutal force that men in uniform are turning into is alarming and disturbing.Personally if I would have been there i certainly would have thrashed this person and would have preferred to have him punished by the people than turn him to the law.
No matter how much the publicity is given on this espisode can the girls life be restored back to her innocence.She will now carry a scar and plus the humiliation of the publicity for the rest of the life.
Is life imprisonment sufficient for this kind of heinous crime .What kind of insecured society are we creating with such maniacs seeking to target any time any place in any face.
The authorities must create precedence of severe penalties for a consistent period till it sinks into the minds of the men that this is not acceptable.
He should be hanged !! This is one of the most brutal crime , and a man fears Death most in his life , all accused should be Hanged till Death , so that next time a person should think twice before committing this type of crime , the other option , TO BE STONED TO DEATH BY THE PUBLIC !!!!
Why should there be any difference between More and Dhananjay Chatterjee? He should be hanged so that it should be a lesson for all "Vardi wala Goondas". They should think 100 times before committing any such crimes.
