by gurpreet singh on May 08, 2006 03:06 PM  Permalink

there is no need in closing bars
as how safe r womens in mumbai the city which never sleeps, if bars have to be closed then why not kmatiapura & other prostitute dens,
if bars are closed then all types of musical shows should be banned as bar girls dance on songs tunes so dance at schools, shows and songs at cultural actvities & all types perfomances should be banned
so pls live and let live
let the bar girls earn their lively hood

Corrupt Politicians
by david on Apr 13, 2006 04:58 PM  Permalink

banning the dance bars was done by corrupt politcians who want the deflect the attention from more importnat problems of the common man. instead of concentrating and creating policies for cheap housing, employment opps , cheaper education better living conditions etc they take up issues like dnace bars and ban them, if they were so serious they should have also banned dancing in five stars hotel and made a common law they should also ban dancing in pubs discos and page 3 parties the sena should also fight for banning page 3 parties definately this is not the culture which shivaji wanted. All page 3 parties should be stormed by the sena and rr patil and jokers and the partcipants should be manhandled and groped.

Equality should prevail every where
by Divakar on Apr 13, 2006 10:35 AM  Permalink

if Dance bars are to be banned for being shown obscenity and violating ehical and morals, Than elite people who themselves dressed very poorly which attracts the attention of the people in colleges,in the general public, Pubs and Discotheques are these things are not violating our morales.
We accept a women who attracts and lures the people by her skin appearance on the screen
which morally and ethically cannot acceptable in the real life, they are well respected in the society they are welcomed into politics, social gathering without any hesitation. And even allowed to pious places of worship like our temples.
First ban the women from showing their skin on the screen which is not acceptable morally and ethically than take the case of bar girls.

When showing the skin is not banned in films,Serials ,T.v. Serials And many T.V. channels how can the bar girls who are poor and uneducated be responnnnnsible for violation of morale and ethics of society.

Dance bars

It is unconstitutional. It is as good as Fashion shows. The Maharashtra Government will fail ultimately. The Supreme Court also will uphold the decision of the Bombay High Court. It is ironical that it is only the police and the politicians who frequent these bars. Obviously it is because of monetary reason the Government has banned it. As if the Government is interested in the welfare of the people..

Money game
by ashu413 on Apr 15, 2005 03:14 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

respected Sir,
It's a bitter truth for India that here democracy is only in the words. Everybody in the corriods of power is playing dirty and selfish game and milking to make money for self at the cost of others benefits. If anything yiels money then in the name of rules and regulation first exploitation and then blackmailing for money this has become trend in bharat mahan perody.
As mentioned there is a demand of Rs 13 crore from bar owners means whether after giving money illeigal becomes legal and what was immoral till yesterday will become ethical and morally true.Never!
So what I feel is that bar shouldn't be closed or if close then government should take their responsibility of livelihood. The Women organisation in India are greater blot on Indian democracy.Their purpose is to make money for themselves, making report of appreciationa and flush in money from government and from foreign countries aid meant for NGO and women organisation. Whether any women organisation had ever tried to finish prostitution?
Hoping that Indian democracy will no longer means
'Government of the fools, for the fools and by the fools'.

Dance Bars

I find the noise about saving livelyhood of bar girls sickening.
If we stop prostitution livelyhood of a million women will be affected .If we stop smuggling livelyhood of a million smugglers will be affected. If we clean slums than slum dwellers will be affected. If we clear pavements for pedestarians than livelyhood of hawkers will be affected.
Every wrong act has some right side effects. We have to take a larger view of social desirability.
Maharashtra government is right. No one should meddle or be intimidated while doing a right act.
