Preamble : I DO NOT BELONG TO ANY POLITICAL PARTY. I STRONGLY BELIEVE THAT SECULARISM IS THE ONLY WAY TO KEEP INDIA UNITED.
I have been politics from the day I started reading newspaper which is about 2 decades ago. Though I am from Tamilnadu, I try to know more about the Indian Politics across states.
In Kerala, Congress had given a very very long rope to Karunakaran and his group, which against the wish of every keralite (I am Tamil by the way).
To my knowledge, I do not think karunakaran fought for the people of Kerala anytime. He always thought about himself, his son, daughter and his group atlast.
I used to think, when the Congress leadership will realise this and put a fullstop for Karunakaran's activities.
The politics of Muraleedharan is entirely on the support of Karunakaran and nothingelse. Karunakaran wished to make Murali the Cheif Minister of Kerala somehow. But now the Congress has wakenup and moved in the right direction by removing murali from party membership for 6 years. I am sure this will help Congress to gain its image in Kerala and of other states.
I also feel, Congress had to take similar steps in other states too to keep competitors away
