CPI (M)
by N.G.Thakurta on Apr 10, 2005 09:50 AM  Permalink

This is a needless and an insignificant article, with very little facts in it. If at all rediff.com wants the people to actually know about CPM (which may well be not the case)there should have been proper homework done.

More about Communist parties of India
by Ajith Kumar on Apr 10, 2005 09:19 AM  Permalink

There is one more important aspect of Indian Communism. Though Communism is dead against GOD and religions, most of the Indian Communists believe in God and practise the religions. In the case of the top leaders, the worship of God is left to the spouses. And their last rites are carried out in strict religious manner by their children. The question remains about their success as leaders of the society when they couldn't even convince their own spouses and children. The dichotomy is more open in the case of 'minority' co-communists like Manoj Kurusinkal and Dr. Sebastin Paul, both MPS. While former is the secretary of a communal organisation, the latter knows more about Popes & Bishops than Communism. In short, Communism in India has no direction. It is yet another political party with red colour.

CPI-M is so much fun!
by altruism on Apr 10, 2005 02:06 AM  Permalink

well, this party is certainly a blast. i mean, hey! talk about communism and support the patent bill. patent bill and the WTO regime and the effect it will have on pharma prices will certainly help in "removing" poverty. and i'm surprised, they dont have a single woman in their politburo, perhaps they don't want any distractions. and so many bengalis and keraliites, that says a lot about a party with a "national" character!!

CPM
by Tahil Ramani on Apr 10, 2005 01:32 AM  Permalink

Thanks for exposing the naivete and machinations of a party that purports to pulling the puppet-strings of the Manmohan Singh government.
After the fall of the Berlin Wall & the dismantling of the Iron Curtain & the USSR as we knew it during the Cold war, communism has been consigned to history books. Yet, we have embers smouldering in different directions from Cuba to Nepal but the West Bengal-Kerala among Indian states is a curious amalgam.
The decayed rotten teeth has been extracted from the face/body politic of the 21st century but here in some parts of India we have remnants of the filling tortuously teeming with brinkmanship ideas.
Good luck to their conference !

CPM
by I I Joseph on Apr 10, 2005 01:15 AM  Permalink

The party CPM according to me is an out dated one. All the heads of the party are old haggard and want to keep the party members at below povery level or just above the poverty level, so that the top boses can remain there as it is. I have seen the politic buero members travelling in Business Class of the Indian Airlines when more than 15 seats are vacant in the econonmy class. Polit beuro member's sons are studying in premier institutes of Inida after paying fabulus amounts and now drawing six figure salaries. They object any new things thinking that they will undermine the authority of the old haggards. They keep the poor followers in the dark. You are aware they were consistently objecting the computers spreading the news that it will affect the job prospects. Now they can not imagine a society without computers. Such a hipocrats. All their leaders barring a few, just can not think of fighting an election. Karat and other lady Karat are all hipocrats. They are bane of the society, sleeping by keeping their eyes open. Whom they are trying to hoodwing?

Dear Comrades of Rediff:

When are your doing a similar article on RSS, titled "How to Join RSS."

You guys are sounding more and more like the propoganda arm of the communists, Marxists, Maoists, leftists, liberals, progressives and god knows what else they call themselves.

GEORGE IYPE crispily couched about CPIM.
Remember, this is the only prominent party in INDIA that stood the TEST OF TIME when the mighty SOVIET UNION fell down. Especially , a host of European and other countries' commies left the field and threw away the red flags.COUNTRY OF 1 BILLION PLUS still far away and wrapped in mystery ,despite strongest in 3 states ofwhich each have its own peculiarities and coincidences
