Why is US indulging Pakistan
by dv sikka on Apr 02, 2005 01:47 AM  Permalink

Before Indians start wasting their time and energy on Pakistan and US, they should look at themselves. Today India is 5th most corrupt country in the world. This is India's real problem.
Take steps to eliminate corruption and make India stronger, all will be ok. Pakistan is too small a fry to worry about.
Look at the kind of political horse trading drama that is going on in Bihar, that is the kind of problem that needs to be tackled. Throw those tainted and opportunist politicians to the wolves. Give the people of Bihar something that could be called a government.
This is where you begin.
Charity begins at home.
Make Indians proud of India.

Wasting time in analysing
by Anil Nair on Apr 01, 2005 11:24 PM  Permalink

Hi,

Pakistan delegation is bee-lining for Brahmos, not becuase for buying it, but to get some information about it. India is able to achieve becuase our time is being spent on better things, not just for hatred against neighbours. So we will succeed. But if we fail to read the signals, we will have to face as our ancestors had from Khiljis, Ghaznis and people like them.

this situation is funny!
by Pankaj on Apr 01, 2005 11:18 PM  Permalink

give the proverbal monkey a sword, and all that he does is unleash a bloodbath. this is true for the president of the united states george bush, and his father too. now, the story goes a little further, this monkey knows another country full of monkey's in asia who have swords but no brains. so, what happens is these two get together and you know the result! but now, what is likely to happen is that something may sour out between them and they may eventually kill themselves. beleive me that is precisely what is going to happen.
as for india meekly looking on, let me draw your attention to the fact that this government is ever to ready to please the americans. what else can you expect from a italian when her country is such a close ally of america? and for our prime minister, he is spineless and has no say in the govt. he is rather like a puppet dancing to the tune of the remote control in 10, janpath.
during the NDA rule, the americans were very much hesistant to even take up the topic. what does that say? god bless you, you stupid indians, you are morons, and losers for electing such a government!

Why is US indulging Pakistan?
by deepa nagaraj on Apr 01, 2005 10:29 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

There we go.We're whining again at the double standards exhibited by US and Pakistan (a strange bedfellow). Why can't we learn to just ignore the actions of these countries that have no moral values and lean anywhere they find convenient? Instead of that we should constantly focus on our development so that we become a major power player.Doesn't that sound better?

India, Pakistan and the World
by Supriyo Chaudhuri on Apr 01, 2005 10:12 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

India will remain in a hyphenated relationship, despite the talk, with Pakistan for years to come. Because, India is still miles away from rising above its regional power stature.

If we search the reasons, very little lie outside India, and mostly it is within us. Why, despite being a concentious nation, we can not root out corruption? We are hardworking when we work abroad, why cant we show the same enterprise at home? Why do we tolerate Laloo Prasad Yadavs, Narendra Modis and other criminals in our system? These keep us backward - no amount of US goodwill will ever take us anywhere.

Suprio!
Narendra Modi's govt is the Most uncorrupt govt in INdia TODAY. IF you do not know the facts don't
open your Communist mouth. The Attrocities that CPI and CPM are doing in West Bangal and in Kerala are many folds more than what happened in Gujarat.
Why do you forget Congress too? Where are the culprits of 2003 killing of 11 and 51 injured Hindus in Kerala? where are culprits of 1984 sikhs?

Narendra Modi's Govt is the smallest and Most effective givt. Even World Bank and UN has given His govt awards for speedy recovery after earth quake.

Try to think with your own mind, and not with the mind and words of News papers and US government, that is if you have one. If you are retarded, what can I say but "Sorry"

The answer to your why's can be found in the political history of India starting from 1947 till 1991 (when the economic reforms started). I suggest you read a book called 'India unbound'( I forgot the name of the author, the last name is Das).
India is changing fast. Though most of your negative observations are correct, there is no doubt that a system encouraging the private enterprise and marking the end of red tapes are winning ground. thanks.

us using pak
by anjana on Apr 01, 2005 06:07 PM  Permalink

pakistan should learn from the plight of saddam. after using it &musharaff, they will make pakistan another iraq. the day musharaff wont give in to us demands, they will bring their army in pakistan & make another iraq on one or the other pretext, like terrorism. its better for pakistan to develop itself economically & its humanresource with the same amount of dollars & live peacefully with its neighbours. hope pakistan relises & make itself economically strong which is good for pakistan & the entire south-east region.
india instead of shouting too much, must make itself economically strong & the us companies will come to us with loads of dollars instead of we spending on their weapon.

why is us indulging pak ?
by aniruddha on Apr 01, 2005 04:18 PM  Permalink

Stupid suggestions at the bottom not withstanding - a fine article. US indeed always sets sights on bigger targets like middle east/ Iran - for which Pak is playing an overall traitor at the price of F16. If bugging was simple, India would have finished Pak nukes long back. Time to show seriousness about a serious threat.

Obviously we are much better of getting Paki borders opened to MFN basis of normal trade than selling Brahmos which they are sallivating, we hope not having to use it against them.
