Why is US indulging Pakistan? The answer to the question is simple. US very well knows Pakistan. The nation is one born out of deception and malice. Americans know that Pakistan is capable to run with the hares and hunt with the hounds. Whereas it is not so in the case of India.
It is better to have the post of Defenceless Minister in every congress govt in the centre.You could also add'Spineless'to that title when you have the likes of Pranabda holding it.Such is his response-"we do not have the details yet, let us wait and see"-to the US'offer'of Defence/civilian tech to India as a sop.Instead if he had said "we are happy without the leaky,spooky,non-performing civilian nuke tech from US",the whole world,including fellow Indians,would have applauded him.The fact is,US has more leaking,mothballed,half-built nuke plants than even sporadically working ones.They have hardly done any research in Fast-Breeders or thorium/U-carb fuled reactors.They are obsessed with research in nuke weaponry as US is a paranoid as well destructive metality nation.Even their business leaders only think of eaither killing competition if they gain upper hand or self-atrit (fire staff/employees in tens of thousands)if they lose in marketplace.How can you deal in a sensible,humanistic way with such a nation/society/ culture which unashamedly believes in and obsessed with perpetual war with the world and war between peoples of the world?Strong language as only China knows works.
An interisting analysis. We can be powerful only if are sure of our motives and take decisive steps to reach our objectives. Every country works to benifit itself. So no point in cribbing abt motives and actions of another country. Till the idle situation of Indo - Pak friendship becomes a reality, we have to act smart with only one objective - MAXIMUM GAIN FOR INDIA.
After reading this all comments and this coloumn what i think is we need not to worry about F16's as recently we had outplayed & surprised americans in a trial war exercise on their F16.
What is issue to be worried is our politicians who must understand that NATION and its INTERESTS come first, not to indulge in selfish politics on national interests and rest leave to our proud INDIANS who will definately come out with all the needed solution of this BUGGED F16.
If you want to prove that indian matters then stand up and fight against these companies. Embargo is not a way to stop it. Generate the capability to fight. Why not invest money in R & D? what happened to kaveri engine? why there is no money for ongoing projects in india. The reason is we are not sure about our capabilities. Our country needs paradign shift. Pay taxes, take up responsibilities. I am not criticizing anything but slowly things are changing for sure and meanwhile we just need to prioritize our activities.
Well, Everything and Everywhere business is a main motivator and I see no surprise why US is doing this. Iraq war is nothing but the American desire to control the oil market cause people cannot imagine how life could be without it. Well, it is high time for us indians to spend our resources in science and technology, because it is not an issue of US giving weapons to pakistan or whatever. Why no one raises the issue when other countries supply weapons to both pakistan and India. Our leaders need mission not a short term vision to cope up with this situation.

The World bank,very few people might know was created to develop & re-build(actual build) modern Europe. Who has been the Chairman of World Bank most of the the time-An American Citizen. Who has benefited the most-Americans- except Pearl Harbour, they were untouched. Now,lets say Pakistan, India, China(which is a psudeo super power) all fight together. What is the Result? Destruction. Destruction.!!! Who benefits to build Modern Asia-USA and Europe(That is why after IRAQ war, you find them ganging up peacefully with the thing about putting it in the past and non-opposition to the Wolfowitz nomination).
