Rediff is a singularly anti-national forum which thrives on anti-Indianism and anti-Hinduism...all in the name of freedom of speech. For the money they rake in, they will sell the country and the people.
An article titled like this is so foolish and objectionable. If Indian does not need a nuclear bomb, it does not need an army, airforce or navy. What does it need them for.
What did India need independence. The British administration was quite good. There was very little corruption, and food was cheap. But why did Gandhi and Bose and thousand others wage a war for independence. Were they demented? What did India need Pokhran? Why does India need Kargill? Will it feed the poor.
Is it not plain stupidity. Rediff.com in the name of press freedom, is pushing itself to the limits. My question is Why does India need Rediff? How much money does rediff earn? How much money do they spend on wining and dining?
Its time legal action be taken against an antinational media like Rediff. They are frauds and misuse the freedom of press.

chil yaar... I support the nuclear deal too. But I support it because it can defend India - an open, modern, liberal and democratic country that respects diversity and freedom of speech. If it started attacking every person with a differnce of opinion, India would not be India, it would become another Saudi Arabia. Then what use would be a nuclear bomb - we would have anyway lost this country.
Bolay to everyone is entitled to their opinion - tum kyon itna tension me par rahe ho
See, How these Pakis, who are notorious than Talibans and Saddams, spared by US. That is the Power of Nuke!!. Why US crying for IRAN becoming Nuke ? It is for our safety, Otherwise, mad dogs ,around us, will bite us !!!
It is not about what a poor man will do with a nuclear bomb but rather what a nuclear bomb will do for a poor man. A nuclear bomb will protect the life and dignity of a poor man, a rich man, and every Indian. A nuclear bomb provides security to India and benefits every Indian. We cannot afford India to be attacked by the Muslims, the Europeans, the Chinese etc. because whatever little we now have will be lost otherwise.

Mr.KK. you are right.Whoever has better fire power wins the war.Nuclear weapons are not meant to be used against the enemy, but can deter a potential enemy from going too far in his misadventure. It is absolutely necessary in a do or die situation.Nuclear blackmail is terrible, and it can only be countered through our possessing nuke weapons.Yes, arms race is bad, but the alternative is worse. Those who write against our possessing nuke weapons, are not morons;they are in the pay of our enemies!
the writer should know better that this is not about a nuclear bomb..this is about nuclear energy...i dont blame the poor man in rajahatn for not knowing this...but the writer should know better..this is a pathetic article.
When India started the space program they said what about the poor! When India started to liberalize they said the same thing. Etc etc.
But it is these things that are now helping everyone. Poverty has to be addressed but all else neednt stop. Will China or Pak stop to attack India because we have lots of poor people? The poor man here is most probabaly just talking about the fact that while a bomb is nice, he needs bread to. That's a different interpretation which makes more sense.

you are absolutely right, that the media here is the biggest enemy of india.Again, the media is controlled by the rich and the powerful. They want the nuke deal even at the cost of national security-they won't mind india signing CTBT ,NPT etc.So they are trying to create opinion in this direction.North Korea is extremely poor compared to india. Are they not interested in strategic application of nuke power?

Excellent post.
In TN, the government has officially announced 5 hours power cut on daily basis. Its really pathetic that government could not forecast the power needs. The common people (especially those who have infants) are worst affected. Because of the power-cuts, diesel and petrol are not available. The petroleum minister says the fuel scarcity is because its all being used for power generator machines. Since diesel and petrol are in demand, all the consumables' prices have gone up. Just by making the rice available at Re.1, will not hide any of these troubles. Here the politicians celebrate the announcement of Rice at Re.1. But people.....
