Food and nuclear technoloy is indirectly related
by Micheal on Sep 05, 2008 01:38 PM  Permalink

It can be said that for good food production in the country nuclear technology is required. Whether it is with or without the deal. To water their fields the farmers require motors and electricity (cheaper than diesel) to run it. If there is no shortage of electricity, there will be uninterrupted power supply which will be really helpful to the farmers.

We need a country to make people happy first
by Jai Max on Sep 05, 2008 01:37 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It is unfortunate that in spite of the immeasurable human miseries caused by the two world wars and all other minor wars till date, people still want to believe in weapons. It is politicians in both Pakistan and India who are constantly kindling the fear of insecurity among people. Of course china is another country that is seen as a threat. The arms industry in the world and particularly developed countries with a large defense industry never let go a chance to add fuel to the fire of national insecurity.Call it by whatever name, give it any justification, the ultimate truth is that it is an unproductive expenditure. The root cause of all insecurity is distrust. Trillions and trillions of dollars spent on security only provides the measure of growing distrust among countries and people. If only the world could stop this mad rush for arms, we could eliminate poverty from the face of the earth. It is a question of changing national values. What makes you feel proud. Will you feel better when you say that we have no poverty in this country or that we have killed so many enemy soldiers and so many of our own. Arms race is madness, which is needed to satisfy the ego of politicians with false national pride and businessmen interested in making quick money.

From historical times we were a weaponised nations. To protect good we have waged wars. When we believed in peace and did not wage war to protect ourself, we were held as slaves for 400 years. No one need such slavery anymore.

To moochwala singh
by Micheal on Sep 05, 2008 01:30 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It was the pathetic neglect of national security that made us poor. Having mooch will not provide food for the people. He don't know the difference between a nuclear bomb and nuclear technology. Shows the perception of people of India has about national security. They are ignorant about security issues. The government must introduce security issues for students in schools and universities. Atleast those goes to school will be aware of the requirement to protect the nation from being looted and destroyed.

I completely agree with you. Country security is most important. So, we need nuclear bombs and nuclear technology. At the same time, the inflation that we are seeing today needs to be controlled. That only can be done by good governance and leaders who can forsee the problems. India needs to learn a lot from China in this regard.

Absolutely inflation need to be controlled. Inflation has nothing to do with nuclear technology or bomb. They are two different issues. Nuclear tech and weapons are required similarly a good economy and good politicians are also a necessity for a prosperous India. Again the power to elect good politicians rest with the people of India.

Nuclear technology is the safest technology available to mankind. The fossil fuels kills people due to pollution, cancer, Asthma, natural calamities due to global warming etc. How many people died due to safe use of nuclear technology (electricity production) .

If we have blasted one bomb earlier India must be different today
by Micheal on Sep 05, 2008 01:25 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

If India must have blasted a bomb prior to NSG, we must be like U.S, China or France. This kind of things must not be repeated in the future. If we have a new technology/weapon/missile must be tested immediately. Otherwise someone will form some club and keep India outside like some sort of Apartheid.
