Around 2.30 am on 24th May, a huge white-coated dog was spotted wandering in one of the runways. Timely intervention of security staff prevented any serious mishap or accident. When Deve Gowda sobered up, the security people tendered their sincere apologies.

I di agree however this new era "BIA" is big problem for Aam Admi ke liye. Bangalore Airport is far away from the city. To board any flight now everyone need to pay atleast 5 hours extra with a wastage of a lot of money. Hence, It discourtage all peolple instead of airbus facility taking a bustrain will worthy. Hyderabad and bangalore old air ports should continue for domestic flights. Govt must need to provide a well connectivity to Airport to make life easy to Aam Admi.

Who is asking for your approval here Mr. nuts Vijay...This is what we can give you, take it or get out....gotcha :-) ? Im so surprised to see some nutty headed people criticizing instead of praising the efforts to improve india.
I was one of the lucky / unlucky few who had to travel out of Bangalore on the 1st day of inaguration
My experience to travel out at 7:00 AM in the morning.
The distance was a whopping 60 Kms from my place (HSR) to the new airport while the previous one was less than 15 kms away.
It costed me Rs. 900/- green bucks and 1 hour to travel while HAL costs Rs. 200/- to Rs. 250/-and would take less than 20 minutes time. During peak times, it would take at least 2.5 hours to get there.
For short trips away, I would park my two wheeler at the airport @ approx Rs. 80/- per day at the airport. Now, it would cost me 480/-per day.
The increased consumption of petrol is bound to add to Global warming.
Yes, we do need good airport infrastructure for our cities, but 30 kms away from the city. Does not make sense.

Let's have an airport in each and every corner of Bangalore so that people don't need to travel far. Sorry for the inconvenience.

KL airport is 60 Km from the city. Cochin airport is 30 km from the city. No one is compalining about the Distance. It is the access time ease and covenience and not the distance which matters.

A friend of mine took exactly 70 mins to travel from BIAL to Agara (HSR) in the Volvo bus service, at 10 am today.
Congrats bangalore on opening of the new airport which was due for a long time . Really cannot understand the protest by the BT and IT honchos. The airport was planned much before the IT and BT came to bangalore. The IT and BT have built their base in southern suburbs of bangalore and now pointing of travelling hiccups. Its them who have tottaly devasted blore. In IT and BT terms they say you have got to be flexible is it that they are flexible. Have they ever had a thought in mind many employees of north bangalore like yelahanka, hebbal travel about 3 hrs one way to electronic city ? Crazy and greedy IT and BT honchos Thanks Satish

very well said Satish...If I had the power, I would have made your comments as the main headline in Sunday's news paper:-) These IT BT peemps never think of anything good for their employees. But when it comes to their inconvineance, they are all over the place to protest it.
Only once I flayed from Bangalore old airport and shocked to see its horrible condition and operating system. it was hard to believe that Indian silicon valley has such a bad airport. So irrespective long distance I welcome this new fully equipped airport. Commuting problem can be bridged by constructing some direct flyovers or some other mode of transportation which reduces travel time. Now Bangalore need a good Metro which is under pipeline. Hats up all who worked for this airport. Appasaheb Naikal Singapore

The HAL Airport is now available for exclusive use of VIPs, Ministers, MLAs, MPs and CEOs of IT and BT companies if they are using MinDef or Private planse. For the rest of lesser mortals, please use the spanking new airport build by Mr.Albert Brunner.
I think author of this article still hasn't came out of hangover of this Airport. Move on and forget there are N number of things need your attention.........
Congratz to CEO BIAL, you have showed your skills and talent to proove that, u can deliver on time..
Airports are the main sound polluting areas, it is always better and recommends to be located outside the city and not in the centre of the city. we are already dying of all kinds of polluiton, but some of the industralist and noted personalities wants the HAL airport to be used..is it because of personnel beneficts???
Being a local resident for 30 yrs.. i know the kind of problems we are facing everyday, we should think of mass rapid systems, integrated traffic management and good infrastructure to the new airport.we would obvousily reduced all this halla gullu going around..
Personelly HAL airport should be opened for VVIPS, army and for other emergency situtations.. not all for civilans....
Governement should not choke the road on either side leading to airport by giving permission to commerical developments... Normally roads and areas leading to airports around the world are least developed..but reverse case in india..

very well said.
But looks like the gowdas and other corrupt lickers will do exactly that. That may be the reason why even the Metro paths are not made underground - so that they can keel milking money for development (?) on and around the roads/routes!!!
Dear sir, In my view to keep the name of the New Bangalore International Air Port as Kempagowda International Air port is not correct. Because now the naming it self has become so much in discussion and protest are going on. Hence it is better to change this NEW INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT name as Sir .M.VISVESWARAIAH INTERNATIONAL AIR PORT since our Sir.M.V has contributed to the growth of BANGALORE and Karnataka right from the begining of our state Govt.of Mysore and he made tremendous contribution to the Industrial Growth (Industry) and the irreigation (KRS), Power gernation (Jog FallS) Drinking Water(CAUVERY RIVER)and because of him today our BANGALORE has become the SILICON CITY of country INDIA. More over his birth & creamation place is very near to the air port and it is MuddenaHalli near Devahana Halli. Also he has Recongnisation throughout the world for his contribution in the Engineering field. So now it better to give due respect to him in our Karnataka By naming as Sir.M.V.INTERNATIONAL AIR PORT, Bangalore. From:By B.R.BHASKAR, Industrial Town Rajajinagar,BANGALORE.

Very good suggestion. Government should not hesitate to name so as it does not involve any politics nor no body can have any reason to reject this suggestion. Quodos Mr. Bhaskar for a wonderful suggestion

You have given a very apt suggestion to name the BIAL after the much revered Sir M. Visvewariah. But in the present caste ridden political climate, nobody would listen to this sane suggestion.
