What did BJP do when it was in centre except sending buses to Pak. while pak.army entered through kargil? Don't imagine that BJP , if comes into power, will wage war against pak.

Whereas Pakistan has been aggressive in keeping the Kashmir dispute at the centre of world media, India has NOT done enough to push the case of Baluchistan. During Zulfiquar Ali Bhutto's time, the Pak. Air Force BOMBED entire Baluch villages - very similar to what Saddam Hussein had done in Kurdish areas of Iraq. Oldman Ataullah Mengal and his eldest son died after the Pakistan Air Force bombed the building they had taken shelter in. Despite grave provocation from Kashmiri militants, the Indian air force has not been used in Kashmir.
The port of Gwadar and the discovery of natural gas in the province are providing new fuel to the struggle. The Chinese are building a port in Gwadar. This would be a very stratetgic location with access to both middle-east and India. I think Khair Baksh Marri is wrong to blame the USA. The Americans would be unhappy to see the Chinese use Gwadar, even occasionally. India is unhappy also and may be giving some financial help to the Baluchis to purchase arms and ammo. to slow down work on the port. Last year some Chinese technicians were killed and China may have asked Pak to "stabilise" the situation before work resumes. In one respect the old Marri leader is right. The Pak. Baluchis are unable to get the Iranian Baluch to participate in the struggle. If the Sunni-Shiah difference is the reason, we don't know. In the meanwhile, some Baluch who have inter-married with West-Punjabis are not with the Mengals and Marris.
Get a commitment from this guy if he will dump Islam when Balochis are independent. Ask him if he is going to chop heads and hands and build madarass? better still if he will encourage all Balochis to revert to their original Hindu ways. If not, its no point. dont get involved in another Bangladesh !

what it has to do with religion deepak? why hue and cry as always on the name of religion? Not only Pakistan but China has indian land why not bark on that? Does it not show how impotent we and our politicians are that we can not even speak to CHINA?

Deepak, It is a good point you have made. Bangladesh would have been less of a disappointment for us if that mature founing Premier, Mujibhur Rehaman, had not been murdered by very immature, young army officers. Now, B'desh is also paying the price for that violent start. Politically, that country is in a mess. But you may recall that "Frontier Gandhi" Khan Abdul Ghafoor Khan and his Khudai Kidmadgars were AGAINST PARTITION. The NWFP (including part of Baluchistan) voted against Pakistan. I am not sure, but there were Baluchis in the Congress and worked for Congress in Baluchistan. They are an ancient people like the KURDS and their culture should be preserved from West Punjabi domination and destruction by the Pak.army. Both "Mengal" and "Marri" sound like Hindu surnames. "Mangal" is Vedic-Sanskrit meaning "auspicious, productive, plenty" = e.g. "Mangal Muhurath" or "Mangal Suthru". "Mareechi" was a Vedic Hindu surname - the name of a Rishi, who may have lived in the border of Sindh and Baluchistan. The name "Marri" is very likely a derivative of "Mareechi". There are several other Pakistani surnames- all historically Hindu surnames. Gokul, Kalash, Ranjah, Bhutto, Choudhry, Cheema, Patel (of course) Bhatt, Kayani (the present Chief of Pak. army has that surname!!) Bhasani and so on. You can make a very long list. None of them is of Arabic origin, I am told.

Deepak, As you say, the Americans were dismayed to see Afghanistan turn out to be "Talibanistan", very soon after they left. After spending huge amounts of monies and then celebrating the defeat of the "Soviets", it was quite a humiliation and disappointment for the Americans. As we know, they over-reacted by invading Iraq. There real target should have been Pakistan, for them to set aright. Then, controlling Afghanistan would have come out right. Now, they are really struggling in southern Afghanistan because Pakistan supports these Jihadis, running back into Pak territory -"shoot and scoot". In my view, American foreign policy is dumb, although when you hear them "analyse" it sounds all wonderful, sophisticated. In reality the Americans are gullible, almost idiotic in most of their policies in Asia and Mid-East. I cannot extend their stupidity beyond that.
Every community and civilization has the right to live the way they want.
See what the white man has done and the adverse repercussions on humanity under the guise of development. They wiped out entire civilizations. Uprooted entire tribes and destroyed them. The LAST victim left is the tribes in Brazil that have have NO contact with the supposedly 'modern' man.
Let the Baloch develop at their own pace, same as the tribal people of India. The greedy politicians ONLY want their land and resources.
There is a lot of beauty in simplicity and living in harmony with nature--like the native American Indians did. African Americans were happy the way there were and how they were.
Today the Islamists and Christians continue to Shove down their religions and values down 'other' peoples throat--by the sword. Some good it has done.
Hope the poor people win tgier right to their way of life and culture, heritage and history. Pakistan can still trade as partners, like with any other country in the world.
I personally know few baloch people when i was workin in ME. Actually they are brutually butchering now by pakistan army. Their woman and girls are facing daily abuse from pakistan army.
The family trend of baloach people where elder are more respected, pakistan army has abused them. They killied their own leader and like their elder brother Gaddafi very brutually.
May almighty listen the voice of baloach people and their girls and woman.
One is to find the solution according the norms of the govornance and economic condition of the people. Time has gone when politics was a part of religion and small, small areas used to be governed as per local needs and religion prevailing in that area. Now Baloch is with PAK, PAK is now democratic(may be not like India or US) the war is with poverty and development - Balochs are to find the way within PAK democratic norm, otherwise wait-stop and progress and perish.
