If India's figure are matched with Islamic countries then also it would be far far high. In Islamic countries they have very strict rules to tackle murderers & thiefs & all those related to crime. As the rules are strict they don't dare to do any crime. The only exception is "Pakistan" our neighbouring country as they have terrorist people ruling them. In India we have all kinds of laws but people take it for granted. This resulted in the high rate of crime for a country like India. If some culprit is arrested then it takes years for Our Judiciary system for his trial & his sentence. the following are the biggest examples:
i) Mumbai bomb blasts accused. Many of them are still left for an sentence for their crime. Until then they live good life. Imagine a criminal indulged in Bomb blasts living good life.
ii) Salman khan, Sanjay Dutt & those rich guys who killed so many people by riding their cars on poor peoples are still active in the society & earning good money. Don't know whether they would be punished or not!!
Like all such examples Indian public is adopting very liberal stance against those who break rules. i) how many of us all overtakes from left side of the vehicle? ii) how many of us pay all your taxes in good faith? iii) how many of us refuse to pay any bribe to govt. officials for clearing the files? iv) how many of us don't use "gas cyclinders" meant for home use into our cars? v) how many of us believe in discipline? vi) how many of us raise voi

yes u right i worked in saudi arabia,shoppers there dont even lock their shop there as thiefs are unthinkable there,who would wants to live with no hands.
WE HAVE SO MUCH POPULATION COMAPARING TO OTHER 8 COUNTRY LISTED IN THIS NEWS THAT IS ALSO NOT COMPARIABLE. AS BECAUSE THE POPULATION IS HIGH ... THE DEATH RATE ALSO HIGH ... ALSO THE CRIME RATE IS ALSO HIGH. I THINK ITS NOT A ISSUE TO THOUGHT... WE HAVE SO MANY PROBLEM TO DISCUSS .. ITS BETTER TO SOLVE OTHER PROBLEMS WITHOUT WASTING TIME...

fully agree with u. these type of statistics should be related to the population than the numbers per se. these should be so many murders per 100000. when it comes to birth or death they express per 1000. why not this? Its purely because they know theirs will feature much above us.
I remember reading this article twice now. Not sure why it is being published so many times. Also the article is severly flawed in the matter it refuses to take into account the population of india versus rest of the world.
Having said that it is disgraceful to have a such a title.
