if the above statistics are correct than in india one person is killed from every 34611.. RUSSIA--one in 4913 columbia-one in 1661 south africa-one in 1987 mexico--one in 7860 USA-one in 24045 are killed every year. But statitics apart the Govt ,judiciary and police mechanism should improve the law and order and justice should prevail otherwise people will always shamelesly compare congress rule to British rule.

This article is totally unacceptable and author didnt realize the consequences of mentioning India as the crime capital of world. If this is to be taken seriously, the author would feel the heat till his lifetime.
One cannot write such an hilarious article without proper records available in hands. Also before giving such an idiotic article, one should compare the popoulation of other countries with India. Here the author haven't considered China in his list. If you compare the crime rate of India and US, the percentage of crime in India is much lesser than US considering their population.

If one divides number of reported murders by the population then the murder per million population in US is ( approx.12000/300) is larger than in India ( approx.32000/1100). This by no means justifies volume of murders. But then the question is..... so called "experts" know India is centuries behind the US then what kind of progress makes the average population killing each other more in US? Isn't US supposed to be more prosperous than India??????
Surveys like this will create a public opinion all over the society. Does ur statement "32,719 murders" are just murders or it includes killing of people by accidents/bomb blasts/suicides etc. Does National Crime Records Bureau comes under our union govt or some private organization, even if its, whats the proof for their records. Do exercise intense care while revealing such reports. Hope your site will create a strong public opinion in a positive manner in future.

Please change the title of this article. While I agree that 32719 murders is nothing to writ home about, it does not prove anything and certainly does not warrent the crime capital tag. Countries like Columbia, Russia , South Africa are much more dangerous places to live than India. If you need to highlight something related to crime please highlight the pathetic murders where people murder their own children because they marry into other castes.This especially happens in the BIMARU states and is so revolting and pathetic.
message is loud and clear in all these cases, when people loose faith in Police and justice system either don't work or take its own time the basic instinct of human overpowers social behavior. Message to political leadership is that time is running out before this fire reaches their own backyard
