Such a contingency may never arise, since the western powers will surely ensure that india is not threatened with nuclear arms by pak or iran, china or north korea. If Advani is convinced, BJP may agree for bipartisan support to nuclear-fuel deal with US. The UPA govt can go then ahead fast, ignoring the leftists' desire to tie india to islamic oil and gas, rather than go for globally controlled and monitired nuclear energy, which can be the only real answer to simultaneously avoid both global warming and also the fossil-fuel crunch in an expanding world economy.

I didn't compare Nehru & Gandhi. I know the fate of Subhash Chandra Bose, the great Indian leader. How may of you know that WHITE PAPERS are stored inside of the PM's office? The communists claim they're the biggest champion of poor. At the best, they stop barking at massive number and plight of poor. I haven't heard a single solution from them. I doubt if they're in fact interested solving problem of poor. I know and they know poverty, misery and hunger are best for the expansion of their ideology. Forget the nation. What they've done for poor of Bengal and Kerala?
If we look at successful where countries have solved problem of poverty (S. Korea, China and recently India to some extent), these economies have to get rid of communism cancer to get rid of cancer of poverty. Economic activity and private entrepreneurship along with passionate social values to guide government policies is the only answer to alleviate poverty.
