CHEERS TO PEOPLE LIKE DUBA
by KHALI on Jul 14, 2008 04:24 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It makes me feel very happy that people living in the eastern sector (which is the most neglected by our govts) r considering themselves as Indians. They r Indians indeed and they need not mention this. But due to lack of govt. attention to these states a sense of frustration has arouse amongst them.

But what i read throught the trailing post is shocking (people living in sikkim need not pay IT.). Is this true? if so then why? its high time that our govt. develops these far flung states and help them to enter the mainstream. Otherwise we r at a risk of losing these loyal people in the near future.

Sikkim is a hilly state, with hilly area special status. All the hilly states have special status, as they are backward. They get special finacial packages. But they too pay taxes, depends on what you mean. Don't make a non-issue an issue.

if lower income is the case then it should be for only those who earn a meagre income. i don't believe that the entire sikkim population is poor. its the govt. who has kept them aside.

Our govt. people r idiots while they will tax people who strive from day to night they will exclude stars like Sachin Tendulkar who is earning in crores (if u remember his ferrari car had cost him around 1 crore as tax which was exempted by our govt.

shame on the govt. shame on Sachin Tendulkar who should hv paid it.

Well...I was just kidding. I only meant everybody's income that is eligible for taxation is taxed and there is no exemption to Sikkim. But I agree with you that some exemption for promotion of tourism should be granted to Sikkim than waive off tax on Sachin's car.

I guess the issue is about using \"but my Desh is India\".

Should have probably chosen \" I am Sikkimeese and love my country, India\" but I guess he was quoting Duba verbatim. ;-)

Well said Risi. In India unfortunately all netas are from HIndi speaking belt. They are condescending to non HIndi speaking people of India.During independence there aws always talk about HIndi vs Urdu asif these are the onlt people in India.

Thanks but please stop from advertising in a discussion thread thats completely unrelated to filing tax. Unless you want to say you can file returns from Sikkim with the finance ministry of India and not China and start another dispute. ;-)
