i like the bold approach of people-to-people contact. there is a need for the hindus to understand chinese culture, ans for the mandarin folks to understand hindu culture. however, singh missed the boat by not pressing on the chinese to knock it off on the maoists. it is to be hoped the chinese will not do any stealthy stuff contrary to what they have signed with mmsingh within days of the visit as is often customary among the 3m monotheists cultures (ie marxist, missionary, mulla culture).

I dont understand why ppl drag the religion unnecessarily inside any political discussion. You call them Chinese(which consists of atheists, christians, Muslims and Budhists) and address Indians as Hindus? I think Hinduism is better off to be practiced, preached and progressed personally rather than dragging its name unnecessarily in political discussions. Thats why the religion has survived for centuries amid other obstacles
I agree with your msg though, that there will be more engagements between Indian and Chinese!

I agree with you about dragging religion into politics and i hope all the indians get this thing into their heads that they are indians first then comes religion..after all there is no religion greater than the religion of humanity.
