Why India always copy others? Kya karega Moon pe jake ? Kuch acha kam karo, Moon pe jane se desh age nahi badta. Apna OBC/ST/SC ko age badao. Reservation hatao.
There are lots of thing in India internally. Find out solution for those. Reduce poverty to 0 index. Increase literacy to 100% index, construct infrastructure.

Very interesting argument. I guess people would have asked the same questions to Columbus & Vasco da Gama when they started on a voyage to India. What is the use of exploring an unknown country/continent? That question sounds foolish to us now after a few centuries. Similarly your question too will seem foolish after a generation.

Rahul,
There is theoretical possibility that helium that is found in abundance in Moon can be used to generate power. Now how that can be brought to earth is question that is being asked about. Every moon mission is not being done for national pride. Each mission tries to discover secrets and possibilities that were not explored before. When US did a moon mission, the technology was limited. What they possibly discovered can be surpassed. Each nation is in a race to gather resources for itself.

Technology is the religion of the modern world. We should not compromise on that. The cost of Moon Mission will not be sufficient to remove the poverty but the technology and its spin-offs will.
Also, in future world, the strength as well as defence of our country will depend upon outre space. So no compromise on outer space as well.

it will not be successful unless and until people participate for this cause. can you suggest any country where there is no poor people. government can issue a policy and it is the people to make it success. central government has adopted a policy to give 30 kgs wheat for rs. 100/- is it reaching to the poor?

going to Moon is not being done only for symbolic purposes, the natural resource available in Moon is in abundance. So we are also scouting for the same.
