Why is India in a mission to Moon when millions of people in India go to bed not having a single meal a day? It is ridiculous. The govt need to address the real pressing needs of the people than to conquer the moon.

Arrey Jose kutti, Do you mean all scientists after completing their PHDs & Higher studies should go to USA & develop that country???? Or you want them to prepare roti & dal to serve the poor?? you are ridiculous not they. Don't bring every issue & relate it to India's poverty. It is because of people like you that all the well educated Indians are in the USA. So dhimak karab karna mat, soja aaramse.

its better if u ask urself. Why r u netting to c what the world is doing when u can atleast go out and pay for a meal to this very poor. Don't u mind when India boast of having some of the richest people in the world aswell. The poor are on account of the system in India and not because they are born poor. I know how I find difficult at times in getting over my day without a penny to go by but still I work my business with great passion. I am a dreamer to become big so I believe all the poor are also are dreamers n its time they realize to go about working it out aswell. I hope no business houses in India teach them. Strangely some also say this is because of more population in India but I c there is no employment dearth in big cities like delhi , mumbai where there are more n more jobs available . No right track to guide them.. I hope to make things materialize on this by means of providing employment and manpower. Let India take to space as it will also be a stepping stone of success for earning billions because we are still cheap than any other nation. Name it .. you will feel we are cheap on most counts.
Telephone - , mobile rates, tv relays, weather forecasting - ( We are damn cheap than most of the developed and developing nations just because we have our very own satellites ) - They come at a price yaar in most of the other nations and they pay heavily to US, France , Germany etc to utilize such services. WE are therefore able to earn good money and more ov

See Lots of people in India don't have bicycle then why you are buying car . This doesn't mean we cannot go to moon if our people are hungry. Automation is killing manpower then why people are using machines. I am in ISRO only and working for moon mission see people are not knowing how important these missions are. You know long back some people cried about satellite making also why India can make satellite if our people are hungry now you know better we are running short of satellites.

Jose!! the real pressing needs the government has to do is give them opportunity which it has given to everybody some people are poor because they do not work, there is no unemployment, it is only if you are with the government job people consider employed otherwise not. Secondly walk into any industrial and commercial area you have loads of people asking for help but nobody turns, i have advertised atleast ten times in newpapers and net for jobs but nobody turns up , reason simple how can i work at the other end of the city or different city , i can go without meal but will not travel. What is government going to do , in terms of space and other fields it needs to grow to keep up with the world and provide it citizens security , create employment and develop the nation, with isro thousands of families get food on daily basis who are attached to it directly or indirectly. you are just seeing it from one end. if you stop this development you will add to more people to the same category what you have percieved.

Typical Leftist Argument from the Malayali Communist. Mr. Jose. People like you should be locked up in a toilet and not be allowed to get out.
You are citing the lowest common denominator again.
We Indians are not interested in what you and other leftist morons post on this forum.
Be gone. Putting a man on the moon is a matter of pride for India, and we will go about it.
The common man in INDIA will be elevated by entrepreneurship and enterprise not by your leftist barking.

For our international prestige!!! India aspires to have nuclear subs, aircraft carriers, AWACS,nukes,Su30s,F18s etc...
It is USA who allowed Indian-born women Kalpana Chawla and Sunita Williams to work in NASA. Russians don't even allow any Indian-born women astronaut to enter Russian Space Center because they are ruled by conservative communist.

Russian took two Indian citizens to the space in 1982. Americans only took American citizens ( Indian born may be but married to American and had to wash out Indianness just like Piyush Zindal).
We never got any help from the NASA. It was Russians that we depended on. They don't even allow Indian citizens into any NASA facility here. Better to keep them out. Don't let them take any of our hard earned credit.

Listen to this by chief of European space org---India and Brazil started their space program in the 60's...the brazilians had computers and fine buildings...the Indians worked in cramped sheds...the first indian rocket was carried on a bicycle...look where India has reached now!!!
USA has never helped India in the matter of Rockets and space research, everything came from the Soviet Union and Russia. Clinton even tried his best to put pressure on Russia not to supply India anymore rockets or engines. Americans never took any Indian citizens to the space; USSR did that in 1982. USA is against India joining the International Space Research Station, as Russia has suggested. Thus, why this sudden love???? Is it because the tender to buy 200 fighter aircrafts for the Indian Airforce is due very soon and USA wants to have this contract. Then if China or Pakistan would attack India USA would stop all supplies of spare parts as they did in 1965.

Emotion vemotion chodo yaar..Feel proud that the world is coming to us. ISRO will not carry their payload free of cost. Like it is mentioned in the article, different countries are vying for the chance & US only hopes that they will win that chance. So don't worry...it is better to make co-operation than remain in isolation. RULES OF THE WORLD buddy.

right.... they only sacrificed our space capabilities. why why why !! omg!
well i sure hope it can happen there will be detractors. they say the nasa moon mission could have wiped out the entire african water problem. in india also ppl will say there are so many ppor...feed them first...this way we will not do any progess. we must go all guns balzing for thsi. i think once we do that we will the top 4-5 nations in space. currently occupied by us, russai and france i think
every time india does something new..pakistan apes it. nuclear bomb or IPL version or everything and anythiong that india does, pakistan tries to copy.
India launched 10 satellites. We are even going to moon.

It is sad that Rediff has non-Indian as Edit-in-chief of ind Abroad. He was born in SriLanka and there is no connection to INdia as such (do not know the nationality of his wife, though). I do not know what and how much knowledge he has about India. If you watch his activities in U.S., he mostly been to programs by Muslims (where Pakis involvement is more than Indian Muslims) and commies.
