Act. the entire move reflects the image of India, this is the movie which shows poverty in India by an American. Earlier also so many gr8 movies were made from Indian director like. Mother India - Story about Zamindari system, implemented by western. Lagaan - story about "lagan - tax" in posed by western. Swades, Water and so many...... In short the movie which is directed by any Indian director (which reflects criticism over western people) is not appreciated in Oscar, only somehow manage to be listed... but finally no award....
But this time an American directed / shown the poverty of india and this movie is getting appreciation from all over..these 8 oscar awards are a kind of used shoes thrown by western to us.
do you think,in India, this movie will receive any national award?

one can never predict. Our Govt may give the Best Picture award to this bull shit
Congratts. to SLUMDOG MILLIONARE Team that did it! It is a real truth that wins for its truly appearance showing the face of developing india. Critics should feel proud atleast, who neglect the poor people, which 70% of our country is! This furthur centralizes the interest towards poor and deprived. POOR and RICH hands together can make nation bright and DEVELOPED, not few rich class which represents hardy 5% of population and is feeling humilated on poverity rather than putting hands foreword to remove it. THANKS AMEEQ
Today is a bad day for Amitab Bacchan and 8 hard slaps on his face and on his entire film career. He should ashame of himslef as he was one and only and the 1st person who has opposed this film in his blog.

Rather than criticizing Big B, it would be more apt if you can please post with your real name. Have you even seen the film. There's nothing like what Shahrukh Khan has described"visual appeal". Where is the visual appeal. There certainly have been better films made on India. Why those didnt get any, or your perverted mind is implying that this is the best film ever made In/On India

arey riyal king uncle ... ek india based movie india mein hi flop ho gayi... :) ... Big B is right
Why do we indians always look at the west for everything, is oscars the olympics of film making, no, oscar or no oscar cannot define whether the film was good or bad, taare zameen par was by far one of the best films that many of us have ever seen, and the idiots judging the oscars did not feel that. Slumdog won oscars because it was made by a westerner, if it had been made by an indian i don't think it would even have been in the race for the oscars. Let us stop begging the western world for recognition.
AGAIN I REMEMBER THE STORY OF A PIG. Why Rahaman ? Why not Himesh Reshamya ? Was he made ? Both are same. Both have equal contributions in production of deformed music like their physics and mule like facies. Indeed this movie was directed by some shit lovers for some real shit lovers. Actually Dany wanted to shoot some Kiddy movies for their underworld adult industry, eventually he ended up in this movie as he was not allowed to do so here. If there is anything truth left in this universe,it will be that " None of Rahaman's music was ever worth listening to and none of his music would be ever worthwhile in future too" He is the worst of worst and not a real musician. I can't memorize any of his songs or music which are melodious. He does not have any sense of making music. He is a rustic fellow with monstrous spirit. How come he will compose music ? All are politics. Actually,Our brains have started reacting against real music for the negative effects of this digital and computerized world on our mind. Moreover, national and international political influences are oppressing the remaining musical talents of our country only to quench their thirst of jelousies and intolerances. A day will come when the real Indian music will become extinct from the world.

I'm not against depicting poverty and trauma in a nation like India,Its a fact we accept it. But making a movie out of it and having it nominated for a oscar is ridiculous.
Was there a dirth of good movies in India before this.

I think we need to kick the problems like poverty and corruption out of India rather than Slumdog.
