watch the movie and you will undersand!! He was shown to the world as the KING of indian cinema!
Amazing movie, brilliant work, bravo; this all goes to the Brit, for making this masterpiece which earned him millions and priceless fame. But what are we getting happy for, he sold our poverty to earn him fame.
I don't think it is an eye-opener to us, we all know it's going on in our society. Everybody is saying "there is nothing bad in showing the truth, better do something about it", I ask you, is it the first time you have heard or saw something like that, what did you do about it? I tell you, everyone has problems in their homes but no one goes out in street and make bizarre scene of their story. In the same way, India is our home and we should not encourage flaunting a screwed up image of our home to the whole world. I think one who has stayed outside India and has a little respect and love for our country would understand that easily. I work in Germany and today some of my colleagues started a discussion over this movie, most of them were amazed by the porn of poverty and were feared to visit INDIA. I can't tell you, how ashamed and embarrassed I was!
Any ways Hats off to the Director but all the Indians who worked for the movie, great job, but don't feel proud.

mahesh bhatt, sudhir mishra and deepa mehta have shown indian poverty in the past. would u have said the same thing if one of them would have directed this film??
The name may be anything but think about the richness of the art in the movie. I think there are many indian movies which can make their way to OSCARs. But it has been awarded with golden glove award only because they are biased. This movie is nothing in comparision to TZP. Their is no experiment no thrill in this movie. What I can say is it is a movie for the slumdogs in Britain. They should glorify not by us elegant Indians. I dont see any nice piece of music by rahman in this movie, rather he has got much better music in some other indian movies. Only a superb biased can think about the richness and acme of this movie. I see its rather a discriminating movie.

Yes. TZP should & must have been nominated for OSCARS. TZP has an immensely human touch , Moreover it sends a great message to the WORLD about NANNEH MUNNEH TARE'S of this planet, who needs care & affection.

offcourse "calling someone dog is insulting" and we should protest that the word slumdog isnt indian. true because it is not indian word. we dont call slum people "dog".
but what about the treatment that these slum people get? dont the other indians(financially better in condition) treat those slum people like dog??
so which is worser? calling someone a dog? or treating someone a dog? you cant deny that slum people are treated like dog in india. so shame on us that this happen in india.
Its because of sheer genius of Mr. A R Rehman, this movie has gone to Oscars. Otherwise there is nothing in this movie. Whole world is dancing to the tunes of Mr. A R Rehman. Sorry Mr. Danny Boyle. Even when you gave only 2 weeks to Mr. A R Rehman to create magic, he has created Magic. JAI HO, Rehman Sir.
Very good movie, like the story very much. music plays an important part and takes the picture a notch above to level recognised globally. great stuff, thou' some may argue about underbelly exposed.. truth will come out some day.
technically and in terms of direction and acting, movie is superb. However, the whole purpose of it is to show the worst of India and even to cut India down to size. Implying that except for some call center outsourcing, India is nothing but slums. Even the call center focus is degrading as if India's only strength is call-centers - typical Western view.
Granted that India has large poverty population but slums are there in US, etc. too. Actually, the movie could be fully transplanted to US with blacks taking the place of slumdogs as shown in movie.
a movie of India, but by the west and for the west.
