Mansoor Ali - A man who follows his dreams
by visu madhu on May 28, 2008 05:17 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Mansoor Ali comes like a whiff of fresh air. Who wouldn’t like to be in his shoes and follow one’s heart to and do what one wishes to do instead of rigorously following life’s drudgery. Hats off to him for his liberal and carefree attitude towards Life.
In his first directorial venture Qayamat se Qayamat tak he gave the audience a beautiful movie with two superb actors Aamir and Juhi who were in their prime of youth and gave stellar performance.
I think Mansoor Ali should combine both his passions film direction and farming.
He should stress on what he believes for example on organic farming on which he has set his mind in real life. Mansoor Ali seems to be a man of high intelligence hope we get to see him direct a sensible sensational film soon.

by Guest on May 28, 2008 04:12 AM  Permalink

I must confess I was stunned to read the stuff above about great Mansoor Khan Ji.Very few people have courage to follow their heart.
Typically in India people do things to have a grreat lifestyle or name and fame.

Who has courage to drop IIT or higer studies from USA or a splendid career of Bollywood.

hat off to you sir.

and

Many Many happy Returns of the day for your B-day.

It takes guts to get out of rat race.
by gakkad on May 27, 2008 09:52 PM  Permalink

I wish I could be as lucky as mansoor ali khan. He is in complete control of his life. He is not stuck to glamor or corporate rate race and leading a happy, content life. Dear mansoor wish that we could perhaps accomplish what you have done.

He is a very good director.

Who'll forget the "classique" jo jeeta wohi sikandar... Its scipt, charactors, casting, songs and freshness were absolutely SPOT ON, No. 1.

We've seen what happens when you start concentrating on commerce ONLY while making filmss - All yashraj and ramu films are flopping. Aditya Chopra and RGV are talented but they are making films around a theme, scipting happens much later.

A diector is not machine, churning out movies in a factory one after the other. (We've seen what comes out of RAMU FACTORY). This guy is intelligent & sensetive - we gotto wait for him to be motivated by something. He'll be back with some FANTASTIC STUFF SURELY.

ALL THE BEST MANSOOR.

By the way farming is not such a bad profession if managed well - its tax free and every five years your loans are written off - unlike movies where evry new poject is demanding

JJWS was copied from "Breaking Away", a hit film in late 1970s that won an oscar for best supporting actress. It was one of Dennis Quaid's first movies.

Had an opportunity to visit Acres Wild (Mr Mansoor's Cheese Farm) in Coonor. Mr Khan conducted us & gave an excellent brief on how he is running the farm. His passion & devotion towards his cause is evident, and the cheese simply yummy n' World class like his films.
