You don't have to stand him.... for half-wits and illiterates like you, there are Taran Aadarsh, go read his "writing". You'll feel at-home, with translated English, stupid usage, and above all, complete lack of understanding of the medium called cinema. Why do you even bother to try something that's not meant for you?
...almost all the Arnie flicks - the ones with action, cheesy plots and cheesier acting, dialoguebaazi, et al... The Chop-socky Hong Kong stuff, and a lot of the badly made Chinese Kung fu movies, Face Off, Superman, Piranha, and a host of others with gratuitous violence, heroic posturing, and genuine slapstick comedy.
You are right about so many movies. You touched a chord when you mentioned Face-Off, which I have watched so many times. There are so many other movies which might be considered senseless but are my favourites. These include all the Brosnan Bond movies. Then there are those Rob Schneider movies like Animal, Deuce Bigalow: The male gigolo, etc. Some of the Jim Carrey movies too are senseless but then like our Govinda movies you can keep your brain back home & enjoy the movies. How about most of the so-called senseless David Dhawan or Priyadarshan movies? I love them. Yes, Raja you are right, all of us might look nicer when appreciating classics, but then, there are lots of other movies we loved yet we are not too keen to admit. Thanks for reminding us.
Personally, i feel sad for the half-witted morons who have trashed Raja's not-review of Iron Man. To explain in simple language that your tiny brains will understand (see, i am using simple words), Iron Man is a well made film based on a comic book. It manages to translate(that is a long word, but easy) the spirit of the comic book onto film, without the accompanying baggage that seems to be an essential part of the comic film genre (oops) today. We are with you, Raja, and if Hollywood studios are actually paying you to mention only their films, I suppose it is a good forex earner - a new field - where I would be glad to play. He he.. by the way, did you attempt the GRE?

What about this GRE that comes up every time Raja Sen writes something? Am I supposed to believe that the readers here don't understand the meaning of his English usage? For all those half-wit dumbos, if you can't guess the meaning from the context, try something called Dictionary. Heard of it, ever?

Most of the present Hollywood movies are very boring.Movies are the entertainment of the last century.people are not interested in spending even one and half hour in theatres now.Only Tamil and Telugu movies are doing well, since the tastes of the Tamil and Telugu havent changed in the last 75 years.

You people are so promt in commenting! Do you know who is Raja Sen? He is not just a reviewer who earns his bread by writing such columns. He is a good director and has created a number of good bengali films...some of them have received accolades and awards!

Hi Nitya-Nanda, There is a Raja Sen who directed some Bangla movies, but he is a different person. This Raja Sen is a film buff, a critic and a person with real refined taste. Unfortunately, most of the readers here are so dumb, uneducated and without any taste or sense of culture that they cannot appreciate his articles. Their loss. Thanks to Rediff for letting us read something sensible and interesting. And thanks to Raja Sen to take Film Review to a new level, from the illiterate "critics" like Taran Aadrash or Kunal Kohli.
