I do agree that SRK is highly overrated!!! Mayb except Swades, Chak De & some others.. I dont think Rani, Amitabh, Ajay Devgan are overrated though. AAMIR THE BEST
DISAGREE: these people do have talent Kareena - I disagree. She may be arrogant and over the top, but the girl does have talent. What about Omkara, where she played Desdemona to the T. And Govind Nihalani's Dev. The girl definitely has acting in her blood.
Aishwarya- She's in this industry because of her drop-dead beauty and business-savvy mind. She is more of a good student than a natural actress; when the director is good, she becomes good. She can't act if her environment isn't stimulating.
Rani - Come on, she CAN act. Saathiya and Paheli stand proof (and even KANK, though the movie was lousy).
See just because actors are glamorous and popular doesn't mean by default they don't have acting talent. That too is a form of prejudice. I agree some of them are just popularity, but some of them do have talent too.
Amithabhji: are you kidding me??? He's a godfather, but a deserved godfather.
AGREE: - Deepika: frozen face, like a statue. Great model material, not sure about acting. But then again, she has done only one film, we may need to see more to judge.
- Ajay Devgan. See, this guy has thrived on a kind of 'reverse prejudice'; just like people say 'great looks, but can't act', here they seem to think 'average looks, so must be a great actor'. In omkara, she could hav pull tht character very easily, as her charactr ws naive and submissive. But she only got the naivity of her character right, not being submissive.
Vishal could have done a better job in sketching her character, instead of just putting just glycerine and making tht performance the only worthy acting to fetch her critcs award.
Only in chameli, did kareena get into the character but otherwise all movies including dev,omkara ws just ordinary.

You are right on the dot. Good ovservation. I aggree with you except Kareena. Her arrogant is too big for her ordinary talent.
I'll start with Rajnibaba. He's immensely popular. Yes. But no one really considers him to be more talented than he is. People aren't praising him for his serious acting capabilities, they just like watching him on the screen. A lot of people might say that its the same with SRK, but its not. Because with SRK, most people consider him a good actor. He gets all the awards for crap.
Second, I'd like to move on to Ajay Devgan. He's immensely intense. People say that he can't do comedies, but who ever gives him credit for it. I mean, to be overrated in that sense would be for people to say that he's a good comedic actor even if he's not. That would be like people saying Salman Khan is funny in movies like Mujhse Shaadi Karogi and Partner, when, in actuality, Akshaye Kumar and Govinda were the comedy of those movies, respectively.
Finally, I leave the biggest blunder of the list for last, Amitabh. I mean, how is he overrated? Do too many people think he can do comedy when he can't? No, he can do comedy and has proven it in movies like Waqt. Do too many people think he can do romance and he can't? No, he has done romance with movies like Baghban. Do too many people think he can do action and he can't? No, he has done action in movies like Khakee. Do too many people think he can do dramas and he can't? No, he has with movies like Virrudh.
People are basing him being overrated by Aag alone. He has had other movies that weren't good, but who hasn't?

In bollywood defintely big b deserves his acting/star status. But all over the country, he only deservs the star status like his nemesis rajinikanth, but defintley not the acting par excellance.
Rediff did a good job. SRK deserves to be first on the list, even abhishek, salman have been rightly chosen by rediff. I dont agree with amitabhs choice though. Just one bad performance by amitabh doesnt mean he is over rated.

Seriously don't mistake me... even though I am TAMIL, I have no hatred on Kannadigas. But this is too much to praise Kannada cine world. Out of all the (south) regional movie world, Kannada cine industry doesn't really rank up with other 3 states. IMHO, kannada cine world is in this dire straits because of Rajkumar and his family. I am sure now the Kannada cine world will now explore and give good movies. I loved Mungaru malle.

I completely agree. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is the most over-rated actor. Everything about her seems unnatural. Her smile, giggles, acting etc. irks me no end.

Its the viewers choice, you probably weren't ther to read the amount of messages tht the survey got.
The public did vote for big b being the most overrated, don't blam it on rediff, see all the comments and you'll see big b and srk have the most votes for being overrated along w.other actors/actress as rediff mentioned.
But, they got rajinikanth, salman khan wrong since both these stars did alot of votes as compared to other people for being overrated. Hrithik roshan got a little bit more votes thn those too.
Now ajay devgan ws never mentioned in all the comments as being overrated, i don't why rediff placed him on the overrated list.
