I not comparing him with Kamal or Mammoty.. Watch Rajini movies prior to 1980's, it was Rajini as an actor not an superstar. He has raised from bus conductor to this level that's hard work..

Forget about his styles or other gimmicks..he just touches every comman man's heart through his dialogues charm and other qualities..I agree that he may not do as tough acts as Kamal does but he is able to capture the minds of million which is what matters..

karthik..seems like u have not seen any of rajni movies in ur lifetime. if u dont like rajni why the hell r u here burning ur ass U say he is only famous in TN ?? go to rajni house and see he has his nameboard printed in english,tamil and japanese. ppl destroyed a theatre in malaysia just becoz they postponed the showtiming of sivaji rajni movies first day first show will have the same kind of opening everywhere in the world fans got a special permission from mayor to burst crackers in newjersey for sivaji first day first show. and whoever knows about rajni and those ppl who has seen his movies like ragavendra,netrikan,mulum malarum,moondru mugam,annamalai,baasha will never say that r dont know to act.. nobody can become a superstar just like that doing some styles.. there r many in the cinema industry who makes styles but nobody entered into the ppl heart other than MGR and rajni

SRk n OSO was all over our indian media during this Berlin film festival, but the movie which got the special jury award n screening was a tamil movie parutiveran which was completely neglected.

True infact the movies selected for consideration to oscars(foreign movie category) is also done by some indian commitee which send only bollywood movies to Oscars eventhouh we have quite a lot of good regional movies

It would be appreciated if the biography written is comprehensive, detailing life of Rajnikanth from his pre-acting days to his initial years in acting where he faced most of his hardships, and then culminating in his superstar life. It would then be a good read for any person aiming big in life in any field. This is so because Rajnikanth has built his success from scratch and went on to become most popular star in south india(where most of the movie action in India is), and that is truly inspiring.
