This whole interview is crap. If you want a shortcut to fame or make quick money in Tamil Nadu, use Rajni's name. Who will buy her book if she writes on anything else? Ajith who never had a hit in his name till date, got star status after he remade Billa.

even u mean ajith dont have hit like Vaali and varalaaru(godfather)? is ajith best in vaali other than others in double role? dont simply beat around the bush. he is very talented. but now a days his movies are not htat much good. even other actors also the same
Reading this was so emotional. I always liked Rajini from the initial stages trying all the stunts he used to do. Of course Dalapathi was the turning point. what a "Man"!! You just get emotional when you see him. Its sad people have to argue on many issues in the discussion here but then when you talk about the simplicity of Rajini, there are no boundaries. I could write about him all day long....... Keep going Rajini!!!!
The crapiest actors I know are: AmithaBachan(Bollywood), Rajini Kanth(tamil), MOhan Babu(Telugu). Chiranjeevi( upto an extent) OK..now why are these actors worse..Because..they take a role and turn it inot their own style..Accpeted that their style may be great/good.. But What is acting..Acting is not what you want to do..But what the role want to do.. Infact..if we watch all these guys pictures.. you give them any role..there is their own and its the same thing in every movie..there is no difference between theri roles..Its like watching the same person in a different dress.. For e.g. if you watch any of the kamal movies what you remember is the charecter rather than kamal hassan.. Tell me folks..how many of you really can spot a difference in roles when these stupid actors play..NONE..its the same kind of stunts and looks and dialogues..since I was 2nd standard..
Please dont call these guys as actors..as they can never make you remember some charecter..which is what the writer/director wants us to remember..That would form a good cinema/actor..

Aravind , Its rajni & chiru's fans wanted them to do particular role so they have to do that to satisfy their fans. They r the toppers in their proffessions. After all they do lots of social service. CRITISIZING IS VERY EASY. Otherwise as u said that mohanbabu really suuucks.

Yeah..But once some one is a fan..no matter what..he still likes everything about him..as you seems to be liking chiru and rajini..while mohanbabu is not OK.. What I am trying to say is that they are not acting..they are doing things in their way ..and it is mistaken..as great acting..etc etc.. I mean..look at these same people when they were new..like AB in jangir/Anand..and Rajini..in his earlier..I dont deny the fact that they have talent..THEY MAY BE having some talent..but over the time..they are no way close to what acting should be..and they can never reach to a something special..IF we want treat them absolutely... Few people liking something doesnt mean it is great..

how many rajni movies have u seen in ur lifetime to say that he is not an good actor..see his old movies like netrikan,mullum malarum,aarulirundu arupadhuvarai,ragavendra etc.. those movies shows his acting..but after billa he became a superstar and he is acting what his fans want him to be. Even kamal said in chandramukhi's 800th day function that he is happy that rajni quit hardcore acting and started doing wat his fans want or else it he will a great danger for my acting career. Rajni is not acting to get some national award, he is just acting for how his fans want him to see where as kamal is aiming to get an oscar.

Aravind the number of fans those guys have is not countable it has spread across the state & the country. For the movie goers entratainment matters. If someone wants to watch an art movie or they want to see the real acting they can always go and watch kamal's or mohanlal's movies. They r superiors in acting. U know people still loves sachin if fails to play good cricket in 10 matches. Its like brand.

I agree with you both to an extent.. What I am saying is dont brand them as super actors..when they are not..and that what you both are infact agreeing..I am talking abotu rajini/AB/chiru/mohanbabu/ as an actors.. am not questioning rajini as a person..I know he is great..
and its the level of appreciation..that defines everything..if you appreciate mass masala..then I have a fig to say to you..
and btw..its kamal's humbleness that he gives such comment..

You raised a very appropriate question..but for your dissappointment...am a faculty to in the area of theatre performance.in a university whose arts school is treated as equivalent to harvard.. as this is a public forum..i cant give more details to you.... But you got it all wrong..am just not in front of my PC.but I do really work with actors and train them to be..

Aravind, I personally feel that one should not say that its wrong or right for any issue! All we need to do is just understand the situation and learn that there are one set of people who say this as right for these reasons and there are different sets of people who say otherwise. We need to just analyze and gain experience out of it.
We need to grow up and just understand that what is correct for us might be wrong for others and vice-versa. So just because you don't like the actors whom you have mentioned doesn't mean they are crap!
Each actor has their own plus and minus and no body is perfect. Including the actors whom you are supporting!!!
I would never deny the fact that Kamal or Mohanlal are good actors. That said, none of the actors can take up a rajini movie and act on his role and then give a big hit as he does. Whereas Rajinikanth has his own style, mass, charishma etc., Chandramukhi which isn't his type of story also ran for more than 100 days is a proof by itself.
Though you claim to be a faculty I am surprised that you have shown a maturity of a first grade student only in this issue.

You never seems to understand what ultimately is needed in the feild of acting.. Look at Tom Hanks...he never carries anything of his own..He just lives in the charecter..I am talking about those standards.. What you are talking is just pleasing people.. First you need to grow up in the sense of commitment to the quality..

Mr.faculty. First of all, you must know Rajini is a phenomenan and he has millions of die-hard fans like me. This book has given me (& believe would have given millions of other fans too), the immense satisfaction & feeling like watching many Thalaivar movies in a row. you try to understand that he is a 'super star', as others pointed out, he may not be a super actor like Kamal / Sivaji Ganesan. Why don't you just leave this forum without hurting our feelings? As you know about Acting, you definitely stand in a better place than poor fans like in understanding the subject. Please don't confuse us. We agree, you are the best critic.
