Have a look at the dark knight prologue doing rounds on the internet - a 6 min version which is sort of a teaser (not really) for what's in store - and features 'the joker' himself in one of his heists.
If the prologue is anything to go by, the question of Ledger messing up seems quite far from reality!
In a long, long time, I liked what this fella wrote. I give it to you man. This one time.
It's true that a critic's opinion is as important to him as yours is to you, or mine to me. But there are certain advantages that (s)he enjoys, which you and I don't. Firstly, his words are read by thousands (in case of Roger Ebert - may be millions). Secondly, atleast some portion of the readers take his words seriously. And finally, and most importantly, he earns "paisa" for thinking aloud. Damn! That's cool. I, on the other hand, have 1500 characters to finish saying what I have to say in this text box! Therefore (and that is one helluva important THEREFORE), a critic has a certain amount of responsibility - sort of a price which he pays for these advantages. His is an art, a craft, not unlike that of an actor. And needless to say, if an actor cares a damn about what his audience feels about him, he is dead.
So, yes, opinions count, they are important, but at the same time - OPINIONS COUNT, THEY ARE IMPORTANT.

why do people like you always get struck with benchmarks? if jack couldn't win it - heath "should" not?? Who r u to make dat statement. Here we are, anxiously waiting for a swan song from a guy who was one of the most promising actors in Hollywood, and even before the release or witnessing his potrayal, you dare pass a judgement? Then go ahead and stop people making movies in hollywood, they also dont match upto golden oldies..Move on Man!!!
Raja has very carefully n thoughtfully written about this issue.. yes there has been a lot of pandemonium about heath's role as the Joker, but no one surprisingly has considered the outcome as negative. The "what if?" is actually a question that will linger in your mind. However for Heath's departed souls' sake and for millions of his fans, i hope this turns out good!!
