by MEENAKSHI SUNDARAM on Feb 29, 2008 11:50 AM  Permalink

It's great loss to the tamil community. He is Icon of many young writers in tamil.

But the national media doesn't cover this news, they are giving the importance to Sreesanth's new hair style and deepika padukone's new affair.

Sujatha

During my college days, I must have read Sujatha's novels many many times; Thursday, Friday and Saturday Kalki, Vikatan, Kumudham, Sujatha's novels are a must before you do anything. For me, personally, his novels were the window to the knowledge and a peep to his wisdom.Sujatha, talk to Brahma at Srivaikuntam and reincarnate! I know your love for Tamil Readers is limitless, like our love and respect for you

Sujatha - Corner stone in Tamil Literature
by LOL on Feb 29, 2008 06:57 AM  Permalink

It is a great loss for Tamil literature. Ask someone involved with tamil literature in the seventies and early eighties - they will immediately realize the influence Sujatha had at that time. The kind of subjects he dealt with, his ploys, narrative styles are a class apart and far beyond his times. He literally set a trend for science based novels and his uncanny usage of tamil and english dialogues in his stories are some of the memorable encounters for the tamil readers in those period. A very imaginative, forward looking and concentious writer that he was - he will always be remembered for his Ganesh-Vasanth series - has been a role model for quite many yougsters (including me)- the sharp wits that he brings about in most serious circumstances are awesome.

An achiever in his own lifetime and merit, he will ever be remembered by those for the renaissance he brought about in the tamil literature, for his out of the world thinking and exemplary delivery of creative talent in writing. Hail Sujatha, You Were Awesome!!! We all miss you........

Great Teacher
by KUPPURAJ on Feb 29, 2008 04:11 AM  Permalink

Sujatha is a great teacher who taught science to a common man. I took my inspiration of computers from his early writings. Electronics was made simple. A loss to Tamilians. Prayers to his soul to rest.

Genius or Simple Man ?
by Kumar Vaidyanathan on Feb 28, 2008 11:22 PM  Permalink

What would you call him ? A genius or a simple man who knows about anything under the sun (of course over the sun also). Every Tamilian with the age group 25-above who has reading habit would love him. He is a Kind of motivation, icon to all. One can trace his style in every other writer . His writings are like Value additions to the brain. I never met him except seeing him in Hotels or some functions at public places. But the kind of feeling you get after reading his writing especially his articles is like he is sitting nearer to you and chating with you, arguing, expressing his opinion, and finally you get some value addition. I feel this is the feeling every body gets. Like me, Iam sure every body would have gained some thing from him not mere general knowledge, more than that, personal charecter, approach, analyse & solving problems, etc., etc.,
We all miss him......... Honestly a remarkable person
