sujatha is a great writer of masses & everyone who reads tamil
by nazeer on Feb 28, 2008 06:24 PM  Permalink

His short stories, novels everything had its own identity of his writing ability. His way of translating scientific terms & stories to a common man's language was perfect. His death is a great loss to the tamil readers.

Eminent Writer S.Rangarajan alias Sujatha was really bold in his writings in a very orthodox region where liquor consumption is taboo and prostitution a "Hush-Hush" business unlike Mumbai's "KAMATIPURA".
Unlucklily i am "ILLITERATE" in Tamil, otherwise would have enjoyed his novels.

Laout ke Aaa
by satya ananth on Feb 28, 2008 06:18 PM  Permalink

I've gone around the country and been a fan of Hindi Telugu, Malayalam movies, apart from Tamil. But I cannot draw a direct comparison with any script and story writer to Sujatha in any of the languages. He sure was unique. Crispy writer.

I can only say one thing - "To revel your ardent fans of your writings, I can only say "Laut ke aa" - "Marubadiyum Pirantdhu Vaa Thalaiva".

Sujatha We Miss You

for anyone who is not aware of tamil literature then this is the simple way of identifying him, He is the backbone of Maniratnam's fame ROJA.

Not just Roja, manny movies of Mani including Kannathil Muthamittal and of shankar's (Hindustani, Nayak). its Sujatha who was behind every success of theirs.

No one can forget his works about sangam poetry to tamil version of haiku (from japan) he made science simple for an ordinary tamilian. He made everyone to understand about computers, silicon chips through his writing in the early 1980s itself.

no one could make it so simple about the functions of brain(thalamai cheyalakam - means Head secretariat)though he is a non medico. i being a medico rate that as the best anatomy and physiology book about brain than anyother professional english anatomy physiology books.

so much can be said about his writing, (en eniya iyanthira - science fiction about laser leader and artificial intelligent dog (in 1980s, wow!!), AAH - medical fiction about schizophrenia and simple love stories, ganesh vasanth crime thrillers, columns in kumudam and vikatan, Kanaiyalin kadaisi pakkangal, everything that makes a common man to understand and also to create interest and learn without loosing the basic concept of entertainment, what he left in literature, i think nothing)

its great loss to tamil literature,to a common tamil man,to our filmworld, state and in a way to country (Electronic Voting Machine)

MAY HIS SOUL REST IN PIECE and SCIENCE

My beloved writer
by sathappan sethuraman on Feb 28, 2008 05:58 PM  Permalink

It is hard to believe that my beloved writer is no more. Right from my school days I am reading his writings. May his soul rest in peace. As long as tamil books are there, readers will not forget Sujatha. He has created revolution in Tamil writing. Great Writer. Great loss to Tamilnadu and tamil readers.
