No production house except Sagar arts and B.R. films should dare to present a dramatized version of Hindu epics. Currently the Mahabharat, being aired in the television' is hampering the image of world's longest epic. Proper research should be done before airing these shows on the idiot box. Consulting the new versioning with the previous father of the same is one of the easiest way to show the epic drama in a more respectable manner.
Wait a minute! Is the serial that Bobby Bedi is making going to be an animation master piece using CGI graphis, or is it going to be using real people like B.R. Chopra did with high tech visual effects? I had my hopes up thinking it would be an animated version. Damn it!!! I'll be so horribly destroyed if its with real people for with real people you are creatively limited in your imagination and what can be conceptualized from story board to actual film. Damn it! If its not animated, then its a complete let down for me!!!
Let us all stop calling Hindu stories as mythology as this word mis-respresents such great epics as myths.
Our epics are ideally our history and ancestorial heritage though they are not a part of our history syllabus due to minority appeasing politics of this country.
By calling our epics as myth we are digging our own grave and indirectly helping the malevolent christian missionaries to plant the cross on this grave.

I respect your point but why you have to disgrace missionaries. Why dont you do start digging and prove it rather abusing missionaries. Give respect and take respect. Dont write like a militant.

Dude, get a grip! I'm convinced that the war at Kurukshetra happened but the Mahabharata has it embellished. If its not embellished, then where is the archaeological evidence to back it up??? Myths turn in to history when there is scientific proof for their existence. Don't call it history until you have evidence.
It is nice to read that this mother of all epic is to be retold.Well with the advancement in technolgy it can be narrated more powerfully provided the Director is well versed with it.
It is very difficult to imagine the characters of Mahabharata without remembering the people who acted in the 1st one. Punit Issar as Duryodhan, Mukesh Khanna as Bhishma Pitamaha and Arjun playing Arjuna's role. They have a mark in our brain and I think it will be very difficult for the directors to make an impact on us with new characters.
