Bachchans are trying to create tension in Maharashtra, How disgusting, people of maharashtra should try and learn to promote such kind of selfish people
I am from north origin living in Mumbai for a long and love this place. I call myself local. So enough of these UP-Biharis v/s locals. And Maharashtrians means living in Maharashtra irrespective of their mother tonge. Jaya has done great disservice to Maharashtrians. The question was to speak in English or to speak in Hindi. It's trend to speak in 'English' only by any movie person to show off. Why she has to create controversy like this deliberately. Does anybody even reqested her to speak in Marathi at that function, why she targeted Maharashtrians then. She should criticise her son and daughter-in-law for speaking only in English first. Her statements against maharashtrian is uncalled for. People should identify these opportunists.
She is putting lives in danger of people from north and made an uncalled for statement just to turn UP political fortunes when she didn't live in UP, she studied outside & then in Pune film institute and She IS in Maharashtra for 40 years and still hate maharashtrians. I am from north but now maharashtrian would suggest her to appologize or move out of state and move to UP permanently if she hates the locals because her statements will make North Indians more targetted and now others, Gujjus and South people are also joining hands. She proves what she and her Husband's real face is. Really disgusting to see these SP opportunists, who just do anything for votes and cheap publicity and totally insesnsitives to real needs of people from North

Very rightly said. I m Maharashtrian from Mumabai. I never forced anyone to speak Marathi but what I want all should respect this language. Few days back I went to Andhra Pradesh. There everyone was speaking with me in Telgu. Even though I don't even know single word of Telgu, I never stopped anyone from speaking in Telgu & tried to know what they r saying from gesture. The reason behind my act was, I gave respect to their mother tongue even though I m unknown about it. But this jaya, ahter staying here, occupying fame & glamour now showing dirt in her mind about Maharashtrians. Shame on this whole Dhakkan family.

respect your nature and maturity mash. please be assured even though i dont speak marathi myself.. i do enjoy most of marathi movies.. great comedy.. incomparable.. rest assured marathas are great people.. just like the rest of the people in this country.. :)
We should treat HINDI as \"Mathru Basha\" rather than considering as a language which belongs to a particular state. This statement I am making inspite of myself being from Tamil Nadu where all of us know the politicians make \"Hindi\" as an issue or trump card for their Vote bank.I had learnt HINDI on my own by exams and practically while working and travelling and confident to talk to any person across the country.
If you Marathis have problem with hindi then change your Lipi i.e. Devnagri and create a new Lipi for yourself.
Close down the Hindi Film Industry. And in my view Hindi Film Industry is the main accused for the crime in Mumbai. After Closing the Film Industry, the crime rate of mumbai will come down immediately.
No one is writing against Hindi Film Industry, Why? If you have problems then shut down the Hindi Film Industry.
Why Smita Thakre Produced films in Hindi, Why not in Marathi.
Why Mr.(???) Sawant Made his first film in Bhojpuri.

One's mother tongue is bigger than the national language. Please should talk only in mother tongue. Hindi can never be original mother tongue for anyone. It can only be step-mother tongue.

Kasturi Dont talk like Karunanidhi?
If a country have not single language then it is destined to called backward. In India Hindi is the main connecting language between states. Whether you accept it or not.

Mujhe gandagi mein aane ka shauk nahi hai. Aur Maharashtra mein puri duniya aani chahti hai tumhare bhaiye log bhi pade rehte hai yahi footpathpar. Hum unhe bhikh dete hai. Tujhe bhi chahiye to bol.
At first place, when you travel or get resettle at different place than your home town, one should take efforts in knowing the local culture with some immediate basic communication language and this will help the person himself to communicate properly. As time goes one should be able to communicate in the local language. Secondly, We in India have multiple languages which we have inherited and no one can runaway from this, so it is imperative and a good gesture to learn the local language and culture where you stay so that you get close to local people and create a more healthy & understanding environment. Lastly, having said above it should also be kept in mind that Hindi is our National Language and at the same breath we should respect and everybody as Indian should be able to speak our national language whereever they reside in any parts of country. Mumbai is an best example, where one can find that almost 99.99% of the people understand or speak Hindi, which is highly respectable. Great Mumbai. Learn Local language to communicate and understand better.

Praksh, I respect your views but, would like to make one thing clear just for your information that Hindi is not our national language, No disrespect. I am surprise to see how many people are ignorant about this fact.

If there is any changes to this which i may not ne aware, please correct me. Thanks for feedback and response.

Prakash, When Indian constitution was made, we had similar problems regarding accepting one language as a national language, So to avoid this contitution says India as a nation will have no national language as it is so diverse, instead India will have officical languages. Sayin all this No disrespect towards Hindi

Hindi is our administrative language and it's not mentioned anywhere in our constitution that Hindi is our National Language.

Amit, As per Constitution of India there is no national language in India, instead ,India has 14 official languages and that includes English, Hindi, Gujarati, Marathi etc. This is the reason why southern states and all other non hindi speaking states do not use hindi as a speking or office language. I hope this will help you
