After watching the screening of Drona Jaya knows no one can save this doomed to failure movie and after spending so much on the movie they probably running short of finance for huge marketing.
So better way to promote a film is involved yourself or family into big controversy and gain negative publicity and publicity is always good andi in jaya’s case is family.
Eventually drama will go on till the release of a movie and then everything will stop.
Friends this formula always woks.

language
by deepti de on Sep 08, 2008 07:00 PM  Permalink

language, it isl told, is a vehicle of thought. To convey some ones idea to the listners it is better to speak in a language best understood by the listner (Provided the speaker knows it). I think Jaya could have avoided such a sentence from her speech.

Jaya is a immature politician
by Himanshu Pradhan on Sep 08, 2008 06:59 PM  Permalink

By shooting her mouth , Jaya Bacchan has unnecessarily trigerred a controversy. She is undermining her hard-built credibility and image by such immature reactions. The likes of Amar Singh will always look at her to build a base in Maharashtra.
Shiv Sena has rightly reacted by telling her to go to Assam and South and propogate her views.Just because Mharashtrians are tolerant, they cannot be taken FOR GRANTED.A Pandora's box of language fight has been opened now.
Let's see the reaction.

A fitting response
by kavita nambissan on Sep 08, 2008 06:56 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I think Jaya Bachchan has given a fitting response to the nonsense that people like Thackrey and his cronies are creating...If Marathi people want everything only in Marathi then Jaya Bachchan has every right to talk only in Hindi..if you want to play then play by the rules...it is sick that in a vast country like India Marathi people want to be different, Kashmiris want to be different, and everyone only thinks of themselves as either Bengali, or Marathi or Tamilian..what about Indian my people?? Is it really that important?? Instead of making the world one common place we are dissecting her further and furhter...

well she can exerceise her right in her own UP. Nobody is asking her not to speak Hindi but she didn't have to say things about people in Maharashtra. Because of this, people who did not support Raj will also start supporting him.

The problem with Hindi
by deepak on Sep 08, 2008 06:46 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Hindi lacks definition as a language. Its too dependent on Urdu and today it sounds more like a Middle Eastern language than Indian. Hindi movies are Urdu movies and do not sound Indian at all. Hindi should have been promoted as a Sanskrit derivative and not the confused language it is today. Jaya should have spoken in Bengali, the sweetest and richest of all Indian languages.
