Well, I went thru the blogs on the 1st 5 pages. Its very disheartening to see how people have made a music contest into regional contest!
What if sony tv is making money out of Indian idol. One ought to make money.I ask why not everyone devise new ways to make money! Whats wrong in making money ; if the means are decent enough?!
Secondly , whats wrong if Prashant won and became the indian idol? Someone has spoken of his diction. Obviously he belongs to a state with a diferent language . How can one expect him not to have a little MTI? Can anyone not belonging to nepal speak nepali? I guess one can't comprehend most of what is said.
Please guys! Come back to your senses. Do something worthwhile yourself rather than fighting your time away on regional differences.... These things only suit the majority (illiterate and ignorant) MPs and MLAs of Indian Parliament who are their 'cause they have guns and rogues at their sides. And refrain from being anything but A Hindustani!

hey hello.. People r not criticing religion or caste... But speaking abt the talent.By the way they both were from north east , small towns .& both r def dow to earth people. Why r u mixing things here. But this contest is abt talent & not sympathy.

Go thru the blogs 1st.......... What crap have people gone down to?! i'm a great sympathizer of none of their singing........ They both use to be off key sometimes.... And c'mon.. "INDIAN IDOLS " can't afford to be off key......
yes it is a only a sympathy for indian.s that.s reason prashant made indioa idol otherwise amit is the real indian idol so it is a very big loss of indian music because amit is the sansession of indian music industries,

We in USA knew that prashant is going to be indian idol because we watch American idol all the time and know what people look for. Prashant is better looking than rest of 13 prashant is charming than rest. Prashant is charismatic than rest Prashant can act better on stage Prashant has a star quality Prashant speaks through his heart Prashant sounds direct and honest Prashant has sweet voice prashant is humble Amit paul is ugly , expressionless, dull and blunt.
In a democratic voting process u can cast only one vote. In these talent hunts you can sent multiple SMS from same-mobile-number for a particular candidate and TV channels and their partners are making money unabashedly in the process. I think it will be much easiers and economical for viewers to cast only vote to vote-out candidates they want to eliminate one by one. In this process, If I have to vote-out 1 candidate out of 10, then instead of voting for 9 others I will cast only one vote for the candidate I want to be eliminated. In another talent hunt 'Voice of India' the most talented chap,17 year Abhas got eliminated not because 'Janta' wanted him to be eliminated but because 'Janta' wanted to save other candidates also. But the channels don't want it in this way as they will make very less money outing of SMS voting. So, in the process we may end up in getting a 'Indian Idol' or 'Voice of India' who may not be the favourite candite for the viewers as a whole.
I congratulate Mr Prasant Tamang and Amit Paul.Both were best friends and both from North East.Prasant,you have won Indian Idol title,Amit, you are not loser .you have won mass of the indian heart.Both were beloved sons of Goddes Saraswati.Both were should sing patriot song.I hope Prasant and Amit will creat a new history in Indian Music with their excellent song.Thaking you. Indian Idol as a show itself is a mockery of music........the singers are not even amateurs.....i might be called a hardliner but i think that judging should be done by experts and not by the public whose votes are biased on the parameters of emotions, religion, region and many other factors which should not be considered if you are looking for a music idol. People might be taking a hit at Prashant that he was not as good a singer as Amit Paul.......but the truth is that both these guys are not anywhere near to what a "PLAYBACK SINGER" should be. Its just a game show by the TV channels to earn money.......50 crore votes by indian public in one Indian Idol season means Rs. 70-80 crores of profit for the Channel just on the basis of votes......ads will be extra.....Just think and wake up

Excellent . This is what I call doing good " HOME WORK" , knowing your score , approximating target , and working towards it; which unfortunately Amit should have done after his visit back home . And Prashant did it well by focusing on what he was doing . Amit was distracted...it was all over him. Too bad. Congratulations ,Prashant...everything in Life is a Battle... A good fighter knows when to throw his Best energy , and you did it . The Grand Finale show was just great.
Can't deny guys, am not too happy with Amit losing. Prashant though in terms of votes was the favorite from the start (regional effect) but a dark horse in terms of singing and performance. To his contrast, Amit was leading in both the areas. Unfortunately, for the final, public votes and opinion also are based on recency effect, thats where I feel Amit lost. He was a bundle of nerves yesterday, and hence a little below our expectations. Otherwise, undoubtedly, he is far better and has the potential to be a much more successful singer than Prashant. This is the 3rd time, Indian Idol was selected based more on emotions and less on performance of the likes of Amit Sana, Karunya and now Amit Paul.
