Elimination should be upto top 5 only based on 50% weightage of Judges and 50% on general Public. Last 5 should fight it out as in beauty contest. There is one winner and four runner up. I am afraid some of the Judges are also biased. Amit sana , Sandeep Acharya are nowhere to be seen. 7 Crore votes - 14 crores to Sony and 1 Crore to telcos.Total money earned - cost of establehment shall be shared between all the 13 contestants. After all they have entertained you and got the money. If this rule is made compulsory than the shows will be reduced to some extent.

I fully agree to the few comments made by some viewers here where, the judges are just mimmicks and many times demoralised Prashant and fully confided to Amit Paul, with lot of fights and foul plays really. I also see that judges have to be very professional, honest, un-biased and CONCRETE rather than racial and with favouritism. I am so SAD such a talent singer like Amit lost it but God will be there who is more honest, simple, with hilly nature, though Amit was also with full of HILLY nature like gentle, soft spoken, talented but all those fighting judges spoiled him like hell, what a PIAT? I am HAPPY to comment that Prahant is very humble human being and we the hilly regions of Nepal, Bhutan, Sikkim, Meghalaya share the emotions and feelings that Prahsant got. There is a saying that "jishka kohi, ushkato khuda hai yaroon" and that is exactly true despite few judges very partial to their favourites, its Prashant who won with the help of Lord, the Almighty, Ishwar tera lakh, lakh sukrya. I am SAD for Amit too, he is very nice, warm, hilly man too, but what to do, I blame the fighting and double standard judges really and few celbraties who were over confedent too ALAS! But Amit is Indian Idol too and God bless him too since they are tbe best friends I have seen and I have and reminds me of a movie called "DOSTI". I like very much Annu Malikji, Uditji who were very honest and straight in their judgement but I question lot to Elisha and also to Javed shab though he is the most

No way, Prashant cud be the Indian Idol. His voice is not at all good. Emon and Amit is far better than Prashant. He just won for Darjeeling. This kind of shows shud be banned..they are only to earn money, money and more money and nothing else.....Last year also an undeserving candidate won the Indian Idol, Horrible...they shud stop all this, this are only destracting the mind of young generation and nothing else. They start to think that why to do hard work and study...incase we cud try our luck in this kind of shows and if it clicks then we can become RICH....who cares !! RUBBISH...whole concept is wrong. The only genuine way to get a good talent is only by judges verdit not of Public Poll as they will be bias to their region candidate.

Yes Prosenjit I agree with you 100%.
Also please note with these kind of shows we are only getting people with good voices. They just sing songs which are already composed by someone else. They are not able to create a song. If a person practises voice training for hours and hours his or her voice is bound to become good but he/she cannot be a song creator or composer. WE ARE NOT GETTING GOOD COMPOSERS OR CREATORS OF SONGS.
Bob Dylan of USA had a very bad singing voice but he has been one of the greatest composer and creator of songs.
There are many Rock bands in India for both English, Hindi or Bengali songs and they create wonderful tunes and new songs. They have originality. I would rate them much better than the winners of these type of shows.
I agree on one of the reader's comment that judges' score should be given more weightage and disagree on the point that the team of judges appointed were pure show case idols, highly personally opinionated, and with no sensible discretion prowess. The way they put up fights for insensible matters, put out false comments and appreciation that are not honest and so much of show-off gimmicks.
Above all the whole process of this show is purely commercial and no way a genuine talent hunt. They are just using those humble simple guys with big dreams in their heart to amass wealth by their means and names.
That besides, kudos to Prashant, a very deserving humble simple human being with a voice that's so true and touching. Amit paul wasn't any less. Infact he definitely scored a point high over Prashant. The way the judges and the invitees openly supported Amit, and almost openly humiliated Prashant by calling Amit the Indian Idol, even before the game was over, it was so much certian that Amit was all pepped up to win. With humble thoughts with Amit, I am happy that Prashant won, proving those one-sided people wrong.
You make all Nepali origin proud and also you prove that Nepali are not only able to show their bravery in battle field also capable to fight and face every challenge in life. Many............ Many congrat winning Indian Idol 3. We are proud of you

Prastant is a complete human being not that others were not.Talent cannot be measured in general ,it is subjective and depends on emotions and situations. I initially thought that such shows will enhance national integration and unity in diversity and make us strong and united as a whole These so called reality shows are driving people crazy.The motive is only, MONEY MONEY n more MONEY that too at the cost of poor, ignorant(region n caste based) people.I fail to understand why so many channels have suddenly become interested in musical talent hunt shows, the answer is obvious(comercial).It is high time we focus on more constructive issues and lead our nation to development and glory.

Friend, Prashanth and Amit are not the winners, Sony and Indian idol producers are the winners as they bagged Cr's of rupees revenue in the form of revenue from SMS.
Coming to the talent hunt, who will loose the opportunity when millions of fools are ready to SMS in the name of Caste, Religion, region and etc etc..
Any how I enjoyed the show and never voted for any one! Infact I am paying fee for this entertainment in the form of Cable connectin fee every month, do I need to pay again in the form of SMS?
I believe prashant deserves the win of indial idol...He is such a great and talented singer.he is simplistic and calm going person who can see hardly..it is very sad that some of the people in this discussion board wrote that he got votes by sympathy...it is absolutely unacceptable...he has such a good voice...at the same time...Amit Paul is a very good singer too and good competitor for Prashan...i was wishing that Prashant shd be indian idol and he got it....Even win or loose doesn;t matter obviously their destination is to be good singers...Even Amit should not feel as he might be getting offers from Music Directors especially from Anu Malik..who use to support all the time to Amit...i believe judges are against Prashant...but in this show people are the judges who elected the right person who deserves the win...Well Done Prashant and All the best!...All the best to Amit Paul as well and i believe your both friendship should continue forever and ever....

i think u don't know about the music..... Even i am also not guru of music. But atleast I can think and make that how the singer is singer. Prashant is normal singer. if he had gone to take a part in Bathroom singer then he should win. hw had won the title because of his state.

I really do agree that Prashant is the will of the people as he won the majority votes, but you cannot compare him with the amazing talent of Amit Paul.Emon,Deepali,Pooja are better singers than Prashant, but they did't had the emotional support of the people. For me Amit Paul is the real INDIAN IDOL.
