I won't curse because I want everyone to see you for what you are. They way you write may sound glib and fantastic but its not. You are merely denoting a great film. Here are my issues with you. 1: To say Ranbir Kapoor is merely, what was the term you used, occasionally likeable? That in itself is a crime! You must've have seen, at the very beggining, how endearing Ranbir was as Raj. His heartfelt acting was very beautiful and put him aside from other actors. He's not even very handsome but he is a captivating performer. As for the scenery. That was beautiful and dreamlike. I won't go on and on about how this movie is a magical, beautiful love story, no I won't. But I will say that whoever paid you to write this story is satisfied. You made this film seem very horrible and ranchy. I would think it was bad if I hadn't seen myself. Also, I'm sure, in real life, you don't talk as you write but I really do so don't hate. And it's also ok if you never seen this. I just needed to rage a bit to get the anger off my chest.
Jamilah.
Last minute props: I have to give you them for your last words. They always count. So in the words of Raj... Mashallah (As Allah wills).

For all those people who have ranted and hammed SLB's saawariya, one can only wonder why? or was there a conspiracy to trash this film so that OSO grabs the audience. This is a beautiful film. With a story that can be described in 5 lines, SLB has been able to craft a telling visual tale. And the music and choreography is out of the world even though i initially thought that there were too many songs but the director manages to keep them short and within the narrative. As for the characters, each is well defined and the dialogues bring them out very well. Not to mention the superlative performances, specially by ranbir who is a league above the rest of his generation. And yes can definitely give hrithik a run for his money when it comes to shaking his legs. Zohra sehgal, rani also excel and sonam manages to hold her own, though she needs a bit more experience.
This is a movie not many in bollywood can conceive and realize and hence people have chosen to trash this instead of exalt it to the height of glorious indian cinema.
SLB has doen it again. To make a well made, well crafted, well acted, well sung and well danced movie, out of a simple story, only a master can execute.
Sorry, the SRK brigade and OSO fans, this is far above your league, and so there are really no comparisons to make
I did love Ranbir's and sonam's acting, but the story was just not so impressive. The music was way better then the movie. I think it at-least deserves 2.5 stars.
This, alongwith Cash, is one of the worst movies I have ever seen. I was under the impression that a movie should at least have a story around which the plot moves. Even if the story is straightforward, the director can move around adn make it interesting. This movie is so freaking silly. SLB has gone mad. Whoever says that he is a great director. He foolishly has focussed on the artificial sets, which look dark and do not evince any interest at all. A boy falls in love with a girl. The firl is waiting for someone. FInally, that guy comes and the girl runs away with him. THATS IT !!!!!!!!!!! My God !!!! SLB is such a waste of flesh.
By this time everyone knows Saawariya is a flop and a majority of people did not liked this movie. I watched it today..online..I too think the movie is not a good one. Seemed to me everything is damn artificial..the situatons created in the movie.. the dialogues etc. i will go out and have a tea now. :-)
Wot is the meaning of such crap reviews given by people who have lost the art of appreciating (if they ever possessed it in the first place, that is) beauty and slow, old-fashioned love.... Saawariya is beautiful and magical!! Sanjay Leela Bhansali knows wot he's doing. Unfortunately, this is the "Wham Bam Gen..." which has no time, concept, patience or sensitivity to understand the finer emotions in life. Raja Sen is only flaunting some kinduv power of language... content - zero!!!
I had a good laugh reading Sen's review. I think this is one of his best reviews. Having endured the film, I think there is not much that is exaggerated here and I am relieved to see Bhansali cruelly described here. I am not so sure about the one and half stars though. I would give it no star, lest a terribly bored person is encouraged to watch the film to pass time. I would spare even him that ignominy. Thanks Sen, for the laugh.
