Theres a very thin line between absurdity and make beleive when it comes to movies . The problem with Indian movies is they cannot make it look beleivable. Take for example Matrix in it there r a lot of absurdities like travelling thru a telephone connection. But what wachoski brothers have done is they have made it look beleivable. This is acheived thru some sheer hardwork in research and graphics. which unfortunately for indian movies is out of questions bcoz producers want quick money. There is absolutely no research,no script. Talking of absurdity in Big B movies i think there r lot of absurdities in them but Big B makes it look beleivable in most of the movies. Even when the script was weak and unbeleiable Big B with his sheer power of acting makes us beleive. And mostly his portrayal of anger and voilence. I mean how anyone cannot beleive his "Peter ab mae yeh chaabi tere jeb se nikaloonga.."fight sequence. The portrayal of anger and voilence in that scene is perfect. And it may look an exgaggeration but But Big B is The only Man when it comes to making absurdities into make beleifs and no other actor(wether in regional or hollywood) can come even near to him.

hey u mentioned Matrix and for dat I m writing this 2 u...i guess u didn't understand what Matrix is all about...just go to Wikipedia and research on ur own..then plz post these kind of comments...the whole world of Matrix is networked and each of the characters Mr. Anderson(aka NEO), all the people they are slave of Machines. The real year was 2052 but machines put them in 1999. So it was a dream world..the real world is ZION..and Machine's word zeroone..also to understand it fully u hv to watch ANIMATRIX part 1 & 2..why machines were attacking human and why there were 6 matrix before NEO...U put the example of MATRIX..without proper knowing...and THIS IS MY FRIEND..."ABSURD"

I beg to differ. If u see many of Rajni Movies ( Which i guess are AB's original), they are better than AB's. I would say no body can claim to come to close to Rajni and AB will be the first to admit it.. Those of you, who are deceived by rajni's current age and look ( he is far better than a wig wearing amitabh) should consider this: This man has ruled the industry for the past 25 years and is still ruling. Once u fall for this guy, its very tough to get out..And those of you who comments on acting, Rajni has that casual air with him which is very tough to emulate and his screen presence is much bigger than even AB. If u notice in GIraf tar, you will agree.. AB is great, but please dont compare him with some one like Rajni.. He is a phenomenon. THose of you who is biased because he is from Tamilnadu, may continue to differ.. Rajni has not arrived to this in one day. It took him decades just like AB.

I m a Rajni fan too and watched many of his movies. I agree he is a great actor when it comes to histrionics but no where near when it comes to sheer anger and voilence(aka the angry young man). Rajnikant has been grossly missused by the Tamil movie directors as most of his earlier movies were a cheap remake of Big B hits(i ve seen the one which was a remake of Trishul). And please dont say he is ruling the "Industry" for 25 yrs as Tamil film industry is just a part of the Indian film industry which includes Hindi,Telugu,Malyalam,Kannada,Bengali etc film industries.These industries have provided many greater actors like Rajkumar(Kannada) and Uttam Kumar(Bengali). So please grow up and stop being the frog of the well. Come out of regionalism and see India as a whole. Ur comments were misleading bcoz the discussion was on Absurdities Vs Make beleif and who is good at making absurdities as beleivable but u with ur screwed up narrow vision injected the venom of regionalism in it.

you are wrong ... actually balakrishna is the long lost brother of Vijaykanth (tamil) and mithun da (Bengali, Hindi and all langs in-between)
