AR rocked Toronto on 10th June .It was a great show from AR and team.I am going to cherish those moments for lifetime.Guys don't miss AR's North America tour.
He is aGifted for sure... No wonder he can captivate the whole india with a 15 seconds airtel tune... he is amazing. The only indian to be listed in Wikipedia's best 100 musicians.
With all his achievements we should be really Proud to have him in India!
AR Rahman born in kerala. his actual name is dileepkumar! and his father's name is Sekar, who was a malayalam film music director. see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A._R._Rahman. why some peoples are here in discussion board fighting each other in the name of caste and region?

Dude how cud you misterpret information knowingly? This is the wikipedia content.
"Allah Rakha Rahman (Tamil: %u0B8F.%u0B86%u0BB0%u0BCD.%u0BB0%u0BB9%u0BCD%u0BAE%u0BBE%u0BA9%u0BCD) (born on January 6, 1966 as A. S. Dileep Kumar in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India) is a composer, best known for composing film scores and soundtracks."
Music has no language....but We (Mostly NRIs)fight against each other in terms of North and South...God should have created Indians as deaf dumb and blind..
I think atleast everyone likes Rahman. He is truly the best.Northie and southie both likes him because he understands the mood and taste of everyone. So please everyone join hands and lets wish all success for our own Rahman's show
I'm a big fan of Rahman's Music. No doubt he is master of his profession. I'm not a big fan of Movies in general (watch only a 3-4 movies in a year). I would like to listen to Rahman's no film music. In the last 15 yrs he has composed music for over 100 movies in different languages but only a handful of personal albums. Anybody shares this thought?
There are a lot of guys who pretend to be fanatic tamilians, and make stupid posts and open pandora's box in terms northie-southie clashes.Lets comment on the article. I'm from Chennai but i would have loved Rahman's music even if he is not from my city.

I am a Hindi speaking guy, but right now am hooked to Sivaji's telugu version :) I am working in Hyderabad so somehow telugu is my 3rd language after Hindi and English!
Mr SAVEINDIA, Your words, Again a musician from TAMIL FILM WORLD was appreciated by a northie. Think, but not Rajini. So, people will appreciate only talent not junk. Rahman is part of bollywood success.

Sometimes you cannot ignore talent! For years many bollywood fanatics, farted around saying that ARR was repetitive! Just like they say things about KamalHaasan too. But ARR beat them in their own game-even if you ignore his Tamil compositions which are far superior to his hindi ones, you cannot ignore his genius! Rajni although he goes beyond language barrier is still doing only Tamil films. All of his best works are in Tamil/Telugu and not some lousy roles he did in Amitabh's shadow in hindi (it's a mistake he acknowledges) And that is something a north indian will never digest. According to North Indian fanatics (I refer to those who are fanatics) MS.Subbulakshmi is great only when she sings Meera Bhajans and not when she sings Annamacharya or Bhaja Govindam, Kamal is a good only when he does Chachi 420 and not when he does Anbey Sivam or Panchathanthram, SP Bala is good only when he sings for Salman Khan and not when he scales new peaks even after 30 years in Telugu, Tamil or Kannada, ARR is similarly best even if he does a mediocre RD Basanti and not when he does Jillendru Oru Kaadhal! Bottom line is according to hindi fanatics it is patriotic and Indian only if it is in hindi. Whether they love hindi that much or not they will use it as a stick to beat south indians always!

Mr Vasantgopal, If you say Tamil is best. I would say Hindi. Because easy simple and widely adopted. If you make anything in your laguage and start saying eureka eureka, we will ask you what is that? The truth is Tamil is one of the oldest lang but not prefered lang. Pl digest it.

That's exactly tyhe mentality of the stupid guys like you.. For you,Everyone should speak in Hindi. India means hindi. You do not want to hear any other language spoken or anyting non-hindi is appreciated. your posting just proves that.

dude, who prefer what here ? southies will like southie languages. A bong will prefer bengali and a gujju will prefer his native language (lets say on an average person). There is nothing special about hindi here. It just happens to be another regionally "preferred" language. "Other" regional musicians make hindi film music since hindi is widely spoken in India and happens to be the "national language" (i prefer calling it "common language"). My observation is that bollywood has been influenced with modernization lately in music w.r.t the tunes (if you have heard to what is called 'pop' in the western world). Of course, I dont intend to spark a needless discussion. Hope there can be some unity in diversity, if thats what our social reformers and older generations called it.

Ignore SAVINDIA. I dont even think he's from TN. He's just here to cause trouble. Rahman belongs to all music lovers, not just a nation or a region.
