How does it make a difference whether she talks in Hindi or English...a person should talk in a language in which he/she feels comfortable and can easily express.

And who told you that Hindi is the only Indian language we have? English is also widely used in many parts of India such as Goa, North East, Kolkata.

Doing a movie in Hindi does not make it compulsory for her to speak in Hindi...it's good she is speaking in the language that she is comfortable in and the one that suits the channel/media (rediff.com) and the occasion.

Also, she is just not speaking for the Hindi audience. She should speak in English because most of the people who use the Web understand English, but not everybody understands Hindi.

One thing is for sure, she knows both the languages very well, which is very good.

Shilpa videao in rediff
by krishan joshi on Aug 30, 2007 02:22 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Since the film CHAK DE is in Hindi, its now a fashion to give interview in English, not in the language in which the film is made, not in the language of the common audience/viewer, who knows hindi. At least this much prudence be theirin the minds of the Actors/actresses to talk in Hindi. We know that after becoming Hero/heroins they ate superior but the fact is they are made by us, the HINDI FILM viewrs.

Krishan Joshi, how do you know whether all the people who visit rediff know Hindi? I think that most of the people who use the Web understand English, but many of them may not understand Hindi because they may belong to different states or may be settled abroad. Hindi is understood only in North India but English is understood world over. So, she is doing the right thing by speaking in the language that most of the people can understand.

Wonderful job. She was better than some actresses who have lot of expirience under her belt. She was one of the very strong link in making this movie real and successful.

Actually Shilpa's role was very tough one which she justified with full of confidence.
This is actually happens when senior most player participate in a group with the boosted ego of her/his achievement/skill. Shilpa justified the negative-positive role perfectly.

What do mean by saying that "gals are losing motivation to do engineering". Engg is certainly not the best profeesion. And if a person really wants to do something, no external motivation or demotivation can stop him/her.............
