He is giving successful films for last 20 yrs. Rajni is not for the so called 'upmarket classy' are those who go to multiplexes & eat popcorn & spend 1000 rs. & tell people that they seen the movie in bla bla multiplex. The entire nation was running behind him to catch a glimpse of him for sivaji.He doesn't give ineterviews in all possible medium to promote his movies..he doesn't do lobbying abroad to win awards..or he doesn't particpate in coffee shows /tea shows/ piss shows like these khans and johars to get that cheap mileage he is an one man industry and people love him for his great screen presence .
